San Jose St and Utah State questions

SJST ATS=11-2 with QB David Fales
Utah St ATS=12-1 with QB Chuckie Keaton

Both great teams last year both teams just changed headcoaches.  Punks absolutely had to leave the progam for one reason or another.  So does that mean its a far gone conclusion that both these teams won't do as well because of their coaching change? Now immediately I have a  flashback of USC changing their head coach to lane kiffin and these buttphuks went 0-6 on the road ATS last year with arguably the best receivers in the country and Kiffin effed it up.  What do you guys think about both teams changing their head coaches? 

Do you guys have any input on these godamn headcoach replacement killers?

San Jose st and Utah state will be very good again this year...

I would check the talent remaining before making a decision. How many players on offense/defense, how many returning letterman, how many all-conference, etc. Then, check the recruiting class coming in. How similar/different are the new coaches from the past coaches? Offense-minded? Defense-minded?

 It's typical that these schools were stepping stones for the HC's.........I wouldn't think they'd immediately fall off but it's hard to say. Do as Hawk says.

i think both SJSU and Utah ST will have a carry forward for at least a year.  I think after 2013, all bets are off.

i do believe in week two that Stanford will be very very prepared for their home game with SJST.   Last year SJSU came out of the blue and almost upset Stan.  This year David Shaw will have them mentally and physically prepared.  In the past, Stan dominated this series both straight up and ATS.  Last year was different with upstart SJSU showing that they were legit.   Stan's D will be suffocating, QB good, and the spread will be in teh 12-16 point range.   I like Stan to cover up to 16 in this matchup against SJSU.  I have not yet looked at SJSU's remaining schedule, but after the Stan game, I will be watching them closely...

Thanks Hawk I appreciate it.  Turns out SJSU has got 13 starters coming back 7 offensive and 6 defensive.

They need to address their  tight end, left tackle and running back positions.  

I hope this guy doesn't try to reinvent the wheel with such a great quarterback in David Fales.  Do any of you feel SJSU overacheived last year and its inevitable they may come back down to earth a little bit this year?

16 of 22 starters returning for the Utah St aggies.  


"Wells said he'll build off the foundation established by Andersen. He said the Aggies will continue to play up tempo, spread offense and that he will stay with the same general defensive philosophy. He said his teams will compete for conference championships yearly."

I pray Wells will stand by what he said and not try to grow a brain outside of what was established already.

miami SJ.State is also abandoning their pistol offense.

Miami, can I call you Miami? I don't have time to type in your full name, and I think we can go with a first name basis........

In addition to the # of returning starters, I like to check the # of returning linemen, both offense and defense. I also like to check on the avg yds per rush on offense, and YPR on the defensive side. Gives you an idea if a team can control the line, IMHO. Just something else to look at. 

Myself, I cannot believe they would totally abandon the "Pistol". If you don't want your Qb killed running it, I would use the backup Qb AT LEAST TWO SERIES A GAME.

You're right packers he saying that in this interview right here.  No more pistol formation.  In this interview he talks about being way more under center.


After further research Caragher seems to have a great background at San Diego where he replaced harbaugh before he went to stanford. His 44-22 record seems pretty impressive too.

well miami should be interesting with SJST. At least 3/4 of college football has a pistol package in their playbook so interesting their abandoning it all together

also just got the athlon book SJST is moving as well to a 3-4 defense. So San jose State has the following changes

1. new coach

2. new conference

3. abandoning the pistol offense

4. Moving to a 3-4 defense

Lot of changes but they still have David Fales

If they can't do nothing else I hope they cover against Sacramento State week 1.  The next week after SJSU, Sacramento State plays ASU with quarterback Taylor Kelly at the helm.  So I will be fading Sacramento State week 1 vs sjsu and then week 2 vs ASU I'll be taking ASU.  ASU last year beat N. Arizona 63-6 opening week.  This year they face sac state week 1.  I'm not 100% how terrible Sac State is but last year their wins were against: Colorado, N. Colorado, Idaho St, southern Utah, Weber St and Cal Poly.  And their losses were all against non-ranked opponents.  In otherwords, it looks like ASU has an easy blowout on their hands like last year maybe not 63-6 but a decisive win over SAC ST with 2nd year head coach Todd Grahm.  I think its a great spot in my opinion before they are brought back to earth potentially by Wisconsin and Stanford in week 2 and 3.  3/5 of ASU's losses last year came to ranked opponents.  ASU is a great value team just not against Pac-12's  juggernaunts like Oregon and Stanford.


Any info on sacramento ST? can't find out jack-sh-t about this team
nowhere on the internet.

well miami i hate to rain on your parade but Sacramento State has beaten a pac-12 team each of the last 2 yearsNot saying it will happen again but to quote Jim Carrey from Dumb and Dumber " So you're telling me there's a chance"

LOL, love that movie, that's cool.  I don't know sh-t about Sac State. But that's why were doing are homework now buddy.  From what i see is that they did beat colorado last year 30-28 not very convincingly but they beat them and they are a Pac-12 team.  But colorado were absolutley terrible last year they lost every game but 1 and they barely beat washington st 35-34 when they did win.    What's really strange is that New Mexico ST beat the crap out of sac st last year 49-19 opening week and then new mexico st lost every game after that going 1-12.  The only Pac-12 win was vs the worst team in the pac-12 colorado by 2 points and colorado went  1-12.  But I'll keep looking for footage  on sac st.  To make sure there is no chance for Sac ST.  Also these SAC St phucks are apart of the big sky conference.  And I cannot find a single ranking of conferences where they are even mentioned.  I'll let you know if i find something else on SAC ST bro.
