Guys first of all I want to say that I feel like im in mid season form right now. This upcoming season is gonna be the best season ever..... I say that every year. But there again, I'm a CFB junkie.
My Favorite College Football Subject is and always will be..........
WHO Was the greatest team of all time?
I just got finished watching college football live today and it brought back great memories. They were talking about the Hall of fame inductees and Tommie Frazier was on the list. IMO, the GREATEST team of my lifetime was the 95 Nebraska team. The Greatest player I ever witnessed with my own eyes was that guy. The greatest and most dominating running attack the game has ever seen. I know some of you guys may be too young to remember that team and don't really understand just how great they were. Let me tell you this, the notion that we are seeing the greatest teams now is utterly laughable. Yeah Saban is doing great things at Alabama and deserves the credit.....
But guys, That 95 Nebraska team would have ran through them like wet paper towel. That team was so dominate in so many ways it was really mind boggling. Here is a stat that is hard to comprehend. Nebraska never ran a single play the entire 95 season for a loss of yards. NEVER! Not one time! Think about that. Think about it. What was so impressive was the fact they were a Wishbone Running Football team..... So you know it was coming and there wasn't a dang thing you could do about it. They scored over 60 points 4 times that season and over 70 Twice!!!! keep in mind they RAN THE BALL.... No fast pace quick tempos. just running it down your throat and asking you if you liked it. They won the NC that year by almost 40 points!!! How crazy is that??? LOL!! They beat Florida like a JV football team and left the Ole Ball Sack scratching his head.
Anyways, that team has my vote as the greatest of all time.....

1995 Nebraska hands down..I was told like 9 starters wouldnt have been elgible to play in the SEC that year.Think about it,their sophmore team in 1993 took a great FSU team to the wire. The 1994 team struggled a little against Miami, but I thought really dominated more than the 24-17 final.Frazier is the most underrated Qb in CFB history..199 yds vs Florida in Fiesta Bowl..lol..I got to say that 1995 Florida team was awful good.Osbourne had really 5 great teams in 5 yrs. They didnt lose a game from Sept 94 to they ran into ArizSt in Sept 1996.If that Texas defender doesnt pick that ball of in The INAUGURAL 1996 BIG12 Title Game Nebraska plays for 5 National Titles in 5 years..WOW..Who can forget the 1983 Nebraska team who avg 50ppg and aniliated every team except Okla 28-21?Still respect Osbourne for going for 2 vs that Schellenburger Cinderella Miami team..not so sure I wouldve done that being Nebraska wouldve been guaranteed the National Title in 1983 if they just kick the extra point.Truly, one of the greatest games ever.Obviously,Boom u know your Clemsom Tigers beat soph Turner Gill and Mike Rozier in 1981 season Orange Bowl..Then there was 1997 Nebraska who I know with all my heart wouldve throttled that Greise/Woodson Michigan team..Michigan should be called the 1997 Paper Champion..Congrats,u beat a pill popping, fat behind Ryan Leaf in the Rose Bowl..zzzzzz..I did not know Nebraska didnt have a negative play..Very interesting factoid....Lets just take a look at 1995 Nebraska.64@OklaSt21..50@MichSt10..77 Arizst 28..49 Pacific 7..35 WashST 21..57 Mizz 0...49 KansasST 25..44@cOLO 21...73 IowaSt 14..41@ku 3..Okla 37-o then the debacle of Florida's Fun N gun 62-24..closest anybody came to beating Gators was 11 pts in regular season..Yeah,IMO 1995 Nebraska team is the best team in CFB history and it aint even close. To think they crushed everybody without their star RB who dragged a girl by her hair down stairs.Tom Osbourne is one of my favorite all time..Id put 2001 Miami 2nd but they wouldnt have stayed within 2 touchdowns of the 95 Nebraska team.At least 90 out of 100 CFB experts would agree they are best of all time.

I agree with the '95 huskers. I watched the college football live thing too and that guy was unreal. However i don't think we can compare teams now to then. It's been almost 20 years and college football has morphed since that huskers team. Saying they'd run through any defense the past couple years, other than baylor or Washington, is probably plausible but most definitely arguable.
Did anybody see the thing on condredge holloway?? That guy was on another planet good. Talk about two different classes of athletes.

Cant argue, although I think Bamas defense from 2 years ago would have made it a great game.
They would have.... Bama's defense 2 years ago was IMO the best that college football has seen in 25 years. Maybe ever. Nebraska would have still beat them and beat them by 14 points or more. There defense was pretty damn salty too...

I like the 1998 Tennessee Volunteers. One of three SEC teams to win the BCS Championship while going undefeated.
wow... never thought the 98 tenn team would be mentioned..
If i remember correctly they shouldnt have even went to the NC game. The Arkansas QB fumbled a snap and Tenn won the game over a fluke... then they got to play FSU in the NC game without FSU starting QB... LOL
Can you say Luck....
Not to mention Kansas st that year would have destroyed them.

Boom - Just trying to throw some teams out there already than the ones named. Also, the 1939 Tennessee Volunteers football team went the whole season without giving up a point. Granted they loss in the Rose Bowl to USC 14-0 but still very impressive.
