Welcome back Boom, you have no idea how crazy Dumb Up will be now that you are back.  He is out of his mind, he actually may have gotten off his behind/couch.

Love seeing ya comeback and laugh at such a fool.  He should have banned from this site ions ago, cost covers some serious rep and lost a ton of valuable members to exclusively posting on twitter and other forums.

adults and grown men don't welch on bets... and for you to come back on this forum, and type all this mumbo jumbo crap, without even mentioning why you are welching on our bet, a bet proposed by you, using your rules and restrictions, is anything but man like. You typed this big huge, bet of a lifetime thread last season, calling people out, calling them cowards, and acting like a little punk, because no one was taking your bet... but I did take it, and I won the bet... and going by your rules, and in your own words, you were supposed to have your account banned, and never posts in this forum again, and not make aliases.... So do you care to shed some light on why you are going back on your word. You owe me that much.

I hope the powers that be see this thread and take the appropriate action and ban doubleup FOR LIFE.
I am of the strong opinion that stalking even on the internet should carry some real life ramifications, this bum goes out of his way to call people out on a of all things a school yard bet.

Enough is enough.

Tideman - This is the last time I will speak to you about the matter. Actually in that thread I said that I needed 25 people to take the bet for it to be valid. But, since it did lose I choose to walk away for a few months. It was bad luck is all.... Clemson absolutely played the worst game they could have possibly played that night. No question about it. How??? Look what they did to LSU They beat the " mighty" and did it convincingly. The score did not indicate how Clemson whipped LSU that night. Total domination. As for FSU, again... Florida was garbage. They played out of their minds that night. Florida was garbage all year and you know it . Look what Louisville did to them  Your Alabama team did a great job and I knew they would win. Congratulations, they were a great team and deserved it.

Boom did his time. It's going to be a long 5-6 months til the season starts.  I, for one, welcome anyone who's not afraid to express a contrary opinion, to the discussion. A little news on the Sooners......Stoops fired three assistant coaches since the A&M debacle.  They failed to have a top 10 recruiting class again (even though at 13-15 they had the top class in the Big 12).  Although appreciated, the Landry Jones era is over (and hopefully the softness tag that perpetuated itself over the same time period).  I'm seeing something along the lines of 9-3 regular season.

Not really.........got a great recruiting class that will fill some needs (eventually) but it still feels like they're 1-2 years away from doing anything besides pulling the occasional upset...........got a real kicker coming in..........Price will have his hands full trying to keep the starting qb job with Miles breathing down his neck.

The stadium rebuild appears to be on schedule............will be cool to see it w/o the damn track around the field..........about time.

Good to see a fellow Sooner on here.

Could be a rough year this year, but I predict OU getting back to a better greatness.

Got rid of 3 line-coaches, & brought in youth & great recruiters.  I think it'll pay off & show after a couple years.  Until then, it will continue to be good, but not great seasons.

I also like the talk of switching the defense to a 3-4.  It always takes time to transition to a 3-4 & get all pieces in there, but that could be a good move in the long run also (if they choose to do it)

I hear what your saying....but

When a team has 32 first downs to there opponents  9 and 445 yds to 219.... Id say that was pretty dang dominate. Yeah, Les made a bad coaching decision at the end...but when does not? Plus, Clemson held LSU to 99yds rushing for the entire game. Clemson physically whipped LSU behind at the line of scrimmage.

Hate track fields... Me and some buddy's went to Duke this past year and the field seemed so far away.... It wasnt so bad tho.... the stadium only held about 35,000 people I think.... 25,000 were Clemson fans

I have high hopes for Washington this year. Just wonder if they will ever stay healthy

Hey Boom

Not to necessarily do a top 10, but do you have any ridiculously premature predictions or surprises you see in store for CFB 2013-14? Here are mine:

1) Biggest turnaround in one year: Auburn.  IMO Gus Malzahn is the next Urban Meyer of CFB.  All this man has ever done, anywhere he has ever been, from HS to coordinator to HC, is make teams much better than they were before he got there and compete for and win championships.  Auburn was badly coached & had no QB last year, but otherwise good talent.  They lost basically no one, still have good talent, recruited well, and Gus will find a QB I guarantee.  Auburn recovers from 3-9 to win 9 games this year.

2) Lane Kiffin's last year at USC will be 2013.  Probably half the people on covers believe this already, and it will happen.  Winning only 7 games with the stupid talent on last year's squad has to rank among the worst coaching jobs of the 21st century; worse even than John L. Smith's debacle at Arkansas.  Lane's been firing assistants to deflect attention, but they are *not* going to turn it around this year; will underperform again and Pat Haden thankfully pulls the trigger.

3) Bama loses 2 games & doesn't repeat.  Nick Saban - prick though he may be - is a helluva college coach, don't see how anyone could argue that.  But they lose too much on lines of scrimmage and you just do not sustain being at the pinnacle that many years in a row - near the pinnacle - but not atop it in today's game.

4) 2013 Pac-10 Champion?  UCLA Bruins.  UCLA lost twice to Stanford and to Baylor at the end of last year - but they won 9 ball games and were a legit top 25 team. Personally I believe both Stanford AND Baylor - the way the Bears were playing at end of year - were top 5 teams when UCLA lost to them. The Bruins return everyone but Franklin but have lot of blue chip talent waiting to step in.  Most importantly though is the team mentality - all have bought in and the team is 180 degree opposite of complacent - they want to win a championship bad and now (I live 2 miles from campus and know a couple people close to the program, the team is seriously focused this off-season). They also have the talent to do it and I think the Ducks & Stanford take a step back this year.

So there are my 4 stupidly early predictions, we'll see how they turn out ....

Do you have any bombshells to drop in March or prefer to wait until a little closer to gametime...? Welcome back.  :)

GW

gwjtf - Hey man...

I usually wait until after spring ball to make any " predictions ". But I will give you some opinions on some things I think we all can see this upcoming season.

1) The 2 best offensive teams in the country IMO will meet on opening day. Clemson and Georgia. This game will be loaded with a ton of skill on the offensive side of the ball. Usually when a game is this close I look for which side of the teams " weakest " side that is better then the other. In this case, I think Clemson and Georgia both without question will be great offensive teams, how will the defense be? This season Clemson will pretty salty defensively. This team has gotten much better defensively and it started to show at the end of last season against LSU. Georgia on the other hand usually is a solid group on that side of the ball..... this year, not so much IMO. They lost a good bit of players and it will show in the first game of the season against Clemson. Clemson will score at least 35 points or more in that game, probably more.

2) Yes, Lane will finally be out of the coaching game come at seasons end. The guy is exactly what I thought he was years ago....SCUM. He is a bad football coach and a even worse human.

3) The show will go on in Oregon. Yeah, chip is gone, but the pieces aren't. Oregon is a very fast group who is gonna win games on their speed alone. Does losing Chip hurt? Yeah it does. But IMO, Oregon is a consistent top 10 team to stay.

4) Will the SEC win a 8th straight Championship? I personally think Alabama is still the cream of the crop in the SEC. Do they have enough to win another? Maybe. As far as the conference goes, it's good and deserves the credit...but still too much hype for the other 8 or so mediocre teams. I will say this, nobody and I mean nobody promotes their product like the SEC does in football. Propaganda can work for you even if it's fiction at times. Really good 3 or 4 teams every year, the rest....mediocre just like everyone else.

5) Im gonna give you some teams " not on the radar " to look out for.... Be ready and aware!  Miami, Minnesota, and California. I think all 3 will surprise and possibly crack the top 25 at some point this season.
