This game is going to be a defensive battle early, but Rutgers will simply wear down VT. VT is very vanilla with their offensive play calling and lacks a dependable rb. As good as Logan Thomas can play, he shows he suspectible to bad decisions and inaccurate throws. Rutgers will get back to running the ball tonight and Nova can be successful off play action. Nova also has the experience of winning these Bowl games. I don't think VT will be motivated here after barely getting to be bowl eligible. This season was far below their expectation and they already played their "Super Bowl" against Fl St. Although Rutgers had somewhat of a disappointing needing to their season by failing to get the BCS bid from the Big East, they have had a very good season and will be motivated to end it with a win. This defense is full of seniors and they want to go out with a bowl win. Their physicality will be too much for VT to handle for 4 qtrs, and I expect Rutgers to win the turnover battle. Rutgers must be sound on special teams, because if you follow this VT team, they always have good special teams play. If Rutgers avoids that, they should lead VT to a slow, painful death/loss. Rutgers wins 27-13

Another coaching change in this game, as Texas Tech lost their their head coach before this Bowl game. I know the previous two team with coaching changes covered (San Jose St, Cincy), but if you watched those games you could easily see how the play calling and preparation was suspect at times, and hurt those teams. Plus those were two very unlucky beats at that, and % wise, normally would've been 2 losses. Minnesota should be able to run the ball against Tech today. Minnesota will find it much easier to run against this Big 12 team, than the defenses they faced in conference play( Big Ten) this year. Texas Tech is has also shown they are vulnerable to turning the ball over this year. Minnesota is pumped to be in this bowl game and the motivation factor gives them an advantage here. Tech has had a disappointing end to the season and has some suspensions and injuries going into this bowl game. This one looks a lot like the Duke game. I bought it to 14 just in case lol. Take Minny here with the two TD's. And sprinkle some on the ML if you want. Tech wins 34-30.
