To me, if the definition of Heisman is MVP it's Collin Klein in a landslide. K State would be in a lot of trouble without him.  Notre Dame and A&M would fair a lot better without Teo and Manziel than KSU without Klein..

Jake I got news for you. A%M wouldnt have won 5 games without Johnny Football. Klien is a great college football player but the right guy won the Heisman which doesnt happen very often. See the Manning Boys. Both were screwed big time especially Peyton.

Their schedule came with 5 wins given to them before the season even started.  I think he's a product of the system.  Maybe I shouldn't haven't watched him play LSU.

the convoluted 'most valuable'.....vs most 'outstanding'
is always strange.....most valuable to his own team....or maybe the league itself ???.......

simply the 'best' player ?.......not really
   *otherwise it would stop here

The Heisman Memorial Trophy annually recognizes the outstanding college football player ..........

but it continues.........

whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work....

*
Very vague....but voters certainly can take into account....oh lemme see....if a guy has been arrested/suspended in the same year let's say....

Prestigious yes.....but silly as hell ...as it basically excludes defensive players and interior linemen....

We all know that in CFB..... DEFENSE wins titles....therefore is more important ........but yet the top player is always selected from the least important side of the ball ........WTF

and another thing..........

IMO.....the main criteria should be your....'legacy'.....you leave to the greatest game on earth.......combined with being a great player of course.......
*so gotta put in a few years

Top candidates should have been Te'o ... Barrett Jones and Klein.....and whomever else fits ...........

Not Barret Jones.  Bama has to be 13-0 before he is considered over Teo.

I would give the Heisman to Klein.  Make Manziel do it for a second year now that other teams defenses have a book on him.  Klein is 100% proven IMO.  He is a better runner and thrower than Cam Newton, but Newton is probably a little bigger and faster.   Notre Dame is a team effort, and I like giving the Heisman to QBs that can run and throw.  Manziel would be #2 for me and Teo #3.

ALSO......they should wait until the story 'ends'...........
*the BCS title game is not part of the season??....
the bowls don't count ??.....HUH?
What exactly is the hurry?

*If Irish beat Bama (+ Te'o with a big game)....Johnny Football stinks up the Cotton Bowl..........> Te'o
*both stink....and Klein leads KSt to a huge win over the Ducks.....then Klein

after the season it's too anticlimactic, no one will care in mid january because everything turns to NFL playoffs

the 2nd sat of Dec there is:

- army v navy
- heisman,

so dec 1 championship wknd,

dec 8 the military rivalry and heisman,

dec 15 bowl games start,

very clear why CFB does this if we just that little computer attached to our fukking necks

Heisman to me is best player.  I dont care if it is a punter, guard, rb, or qb.  The best player should be the heisman.

true.  plus its extremely hard to say who the best football player truly is.

kind of like asking who the hottest victoria's secret model is.

they are ALL HOT.  it's a matter of choice, it's very very subjective.

andrew luck was probably the best player in the country in 2010 and 2011 but he won ZERO heismans.

who can say that RG3 did not deserve it though, some considered him the best player

no, the guy that fits the need in the NFL draft who is most difficult to find (ie left tackle, def tackle, or superstar qb)

college football = college football, not NFL

it's what they do IN COLLEGE THAT MATTER for this award.

thank you.

The Heisman is given to the player that ESPN loves the most throughout the season.

Apparently the Heisman is about beating Alabama or whomever the media thinks is the best team for that year.
