#1 Posted: 12/7/2012 2:33:42 AM A) He wouldn't be in the Heisman race
B) You wouldn't know his name
C) He might get drafted in the 4th round or lower
I'm not saying he isnt a good football player. But this is just ludicrous. There are literally a dozen guys I would draft at his position before even giving him consideration. For a defensive player to win it they gotta be a game changer.....see Charles Woodson. Just electric (returning kicks doesnt hurt resume).....
If K St had beaten Baylor, Collin Klein wins this award easily. He lost late in the season and Manziel lost 2 games earlier.....
This award has already been given to Johnny Fooseball, they are just waiting for the ceremony.

#2 Posted: 12/7/2012 2:38:54 AM Notre Dame is no different than Duke, remember Jay Williams (not to beat someone who had sad ending to his career) who ESPN (person) promoted for player of year from day 1. Te'o is no different, his drive is special and Dames numbers are quite impressive defensively against a strong schedule so.......

#5 Posted: 12/7/2012 2:52:23 AM How would anyone know him if he never played for Notre Dame? I mean it's not like he was the number 1 overall prospect coming out of high school. Just like that scrub Anthony Davis, if he hadn't gone to Kentucky no one would know who he was either. |

his reasoning for the argument is that if you put mantis stats up against other premier linebackers in the country his numbers arent nearly as good, nor does he translate as well to the nfl as other linebackers that are ready to leave for the nfl. he is a good player on an undefeated team that just happens to be called notre dame. not taking anything away from manti and his season, i just see better options for heisman, and (if you are an NFL owner) better options to draft in the first 3 rounds.... |

You hit it right on the head. Great character and very good football player but no way does he deserve the Heisman.
Manziel was the best player this year. I don't care what people think about him. So what if he is a freshman. Nobody else stepped up.
Funny about how everyone complains about the SEC bias conspiracy theory stuff yet I never here the same things said about Notre Dame. Since the BCS came out there has been some SEC bias but there has been Notre Dame bias in college football forever!!! NBC contract for the Irish so that they are shown every single week on national TV. Makes me sick. |

#10 Posted: 12/7/2012 9:29:21 AM C'MON MAN.....I agree with you most of the time but completely disagree with you on this bold statement:) it's not like I'm never wrong but the speed, athleticism, and from what I hear his high football I.Q...his projected draft status is warranted...many said same about Sean Lee....Teo has lived up to his billing as one of the best high school recruits ever and thrived since a freshman... He'll put on 15-20lbs of muscle...I believe we won't see his max potential for a few years....but |

#13 Posted: 12/7/2012 11:11:21 AM I think TRAIN's point is that Teo is a great LB, but we see about a dozen LB's every season that are similar to him. BUT, he plays for Notre Dame. Notre Dame has been revived and finished undefeated and is playing in the BCSNC. Teo has overcome tragedy this season. Teo was all over ESPN the night ND played Kentucky in b-ball. He has been hyped up due to being at Notre Dame, not because he is this tremendous defensive player. |

#14 Posted: 12/7/2012 11:12:06 AM this guy is a top 10 nfl draft pick and a helluva football player. I dislike ND naturally, but this kid is good. As far as Heisman, more of a testament to how uninspiring any other candidates have been rather than how defecient Teo has been.
dude is probably as close to Junior Seau as you will ever seem and most would say that if he decided to go there instead of ND.
You want overrated? Look at Matt Barkley, Robert Woods and company.

what he said is Teo would not be better than a FOURTH round pick and that is laugable to anyone with a clue of football evaluation. I love Train, but have to disagree 100% here.

A) Maybe would depend on stats on how is D is doing.
B) He would be killing it at USC instead so people would probably know his name
C) Kids a great Football player you're just going to have to get over your ND hate and deal with it.

Defensive cpt on only undefeated team in country who leads team in tackles and has most turnovers in FBS. This guy sucks.

Yes they ran all over him personally, my only recollection of Taylor was getting stonewalled by the Irish defense when it mattered most. |

A) Obviously, unless we are talking about middle of the road big conference team.....then no.
B) You are assuming he would be getting playing time. He would have much bettyer compitiion to even get on the field....
C) He is a great football player, never said he wasnt. Never said I hated ND. I was merely stating facts. I dont have to deal with anything because I really dont care.
