Whatever you say O.J. .

There is obviously a lot of SEC envy sweeping the college football nation and it seems that some of the most afflicted are USC fans. The truth is coaches DO strive to someday be a HC in the SEC and among SEC schools Auburn is in the top half. Would anybody want to make the argument that Arkansas is a better job than Auburn? Of course not! Yet the B1G's champion HC of the past three years Brett Beliema has decided to leave Wisconsin for Arkansas. He would rather be the coach of an average SEC team than the coach of the B1G three time defending champions?

So I'd say that the list of college programs that were a more desireable destination for current D1 HCs than Auburn would be limited to; Big10- Ohio State and Michigan, ACC- Florida State, SEC - Alabama,LSU,Florida, Big12 -Texas,Oklahoma, PAC12- USC, Ind.-Notre Dame

Guys, I don't know about all the politics of Auburn's athletic department, but I know this, and it will be realized over the course of the next couple seasons - this was a home run hire, even though now it isn't a big-name hire.  Malzahn has done nothing but win everywhere he's ever been - in HS competing in 5 state championships, winning 3, at Arkansas developing the wildcat and winning 10 games, at Tulsa setting school offensive records and leading the nation offensively, at Auburn going 8-5 the two years they didn't win a national title, at ASU winning a Sun Belt Championship.  Everywhere he goes, they do better while he's, and inevitably do worse after he leaves.  It isn't a coincidence, and it isn't because he destroys programs and leaves.  It's because he's a helluva coach.  He will win big at Auburn.

Saban has TOTAL control of the Bama program.  No other coach in the SEC comes close to that type of control from A to Z.  I wish Richt had at least half the control of his program does that Bama has.  UGA would dominate the East.  UGA was the last team to get a freaking nutritionist for crying out loud and we have the most profitable Athletic department in the country.  Pitiful.

Pat Dye controls AU.  No two ways about it.

I want to add a few things. This will be in random order.

I wanted Smart. Like jimmy said, he wanted control and was not granted control. So, he turned it down. Smart is smart.
I was not 'excited' for the GM hire.
GM not being Dyes choice is good.
I am glad to see that GM let Trooper and Looper go. This is a step in the right direction.
I think DCEJ is a GREAT hire.
Chizik lost control of the team, 2012 is a result of that loss of control.
Jay Jacobs needs to be fired....... like yesterday or the day before, or the day before....
Saban has TOTAL control over his program.
The Auburn job is a good job, to spite the negatives.
***Only 4 times since 2005 has a BCS conf HC left his school and gone to another BCS conf as HC. I do not remember who all were but Rich Rod is one (WF'nV to Mich) and the other 3 were just about as successful had Rich Rod. So, not getting a 'Home Run' (BIG name, BCS conf coach) is not always bad. ***These are 2nd or 3rd hand numbers. I am going to do a lil research and find out the vadility.

May he rest in peace... outside of that "F" him... Trash talk is fun and I love a good smack talk arguement.. but when you get personal and drag people through the mud and basically spew hate you lose that part from others to care.... Finebaum is a great reminder to me of what some, SOME bama and AU fans are like to each other and takes away from me that part that misses living in Alabama...

WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!!!
