#1 Posted: 12/2/2012 11:06:57 PM I would take them over Ohio State on a neutral field in a close game, but that ship has sailed. I will be all over Northwestern plus whatever and moneyline. The SEC is the best conference in the nation, but the Wildcats are really hungry to win a bowl game and you will see that happen..

#5 Posted: 12/2/2012 11:29:17 PM I do not know much about NW but will tell you MSU should not be favored over anyone with a winning record. Check out there schedule and wins. All 4 loses were blowouts and then they beat the sunbelt teams along with the 3 sec wins against all teams that fired their coaches.

Do you think Northwestern has ever beaten OSU? I'm 55 and cannot recall Northwestern ever beating OSU? |

#9 Posted: 12/3/2012 9:55:53 AM I love Northwestern but I rank them behind Wisconsin and Ohio St, even with Nebraska and ahead of the rest of B10, but they would have a very tough time beating Penn St. They are ahead of Michigan and every other B10 is a bottom 30 team (out of 124). |

#10 Posted: 12/3/2012 11:17:19 AM Can't see how NW not favored in this one. they have lost their last 4 bowls but played their guts out in each one. MSU beat no one and NW wants to win one bad.

#11 Posted: 12/3/2012 11:22:11 AM I like MSU under a fg and would like them even more if they got some pts. Bulldogs are overrated as hell but look who they lost to: LSU, Alabama, A&M and Ole Miss. Aside from the loss to Ole miss, Miss St has played a tough tough schedule.

#12 Posted: 12/3/2012 11:49:51 AM Middleman, you're right And i am wrong, i can't remember a time it happened either. I was gonna look it up but then i realized that just proved your point lol. That being said, i think Ohio st is still overrated. And i agree that NW is one if the best teams in the big ten. Probably the only team that comes from that conference with a bowl win. |

Northwestern had 3 losses in the Big Ten, In those losses they were out scored 35-29. OSU beat those 3 teams 41-24
Northwestern would rank about 6th this year! |

#17 Posted: 12/5/2012 9:36:26 AM NW sucks, they had a better year this year but they get plowed over by teams that can run the football. they blow games all time late, have for years because they just cant physcially match up for 4 quarters. the penn state game was prime example, outscored 22-0 or something in the 4th quarter. NW are mental midgets and have been. The big win they had was beating another mental midget team in Sparty, but Sparty sucks too

Your old age must be gettin to ya. I'm not even an Ohio State fan and remember very vividly a night game @ NU in 2004. I don't even have to look it up. Justin Zwick was the QB that year. Ohio State lost in over time.

#19 Posted: 12/5/2012 11:56:48 AM btw Middleman. Why is Jake so dumb? Because he said he would take NU on a nuetral field? You had to beat Purdue AT HOME in overtime. So explain to me why that is such a bad statement? Ohio State ran 40 plays in Michigan territory in the second half of that game and scored 6 points. Just read that again and process it; FORTY PLAYS. 4. 0. and scored 6 points.
That is the most amazing, yet humiliating stat for a "undefeated" team I think I have ever seen.
Northwesterns spread attack is a girl to prepare for, and they ran it too prefection. The spread attack is what gave Ohio State fits all year. There is no questions NU could play with Ohio State. No question at all. |
