Of all the teams k state has played this year, none of them rank in the
top 25 in rush defense. k state loves to run the ball, and then use
their success to setup play action.
The TCU defense is ranked
#8 in the nation in rush defense. if you can't slow down k state's run
game, you're not going to have a chance. its sure looks like to me TCU
might be equipped to slow them down... And they have shown they can score points. and its not going to help if
Klien is a little banged up or if they want to run him less due to last
weeks head injury (if that's what is was).

TCU's young QB will need to limit mistakes. If he's throwing picks, they're fucked.
however, gary patterson is well aware of this.
"If you turn the ball over against them, you give yourself no chance to
win the ballgame,” he said. “You have to be able to control the ball and
be able to score points. On defense you have to stop the run, and you
can’t let them play-action over your head.”
i see him running the ball a ton in this one to take pressure off his young QB and limit KS's possessions. they average 200 a game a home so they might have success.

Don't look merely at the statistical rankings. TCU may be ranked 8th in rush defense statistically but look at their schedule....they have played pass happy teams. WVA, Okla St,TTech, Baylor, SMU are all in the top 25 in pass attempts with Virginia and Iowa St not far behind being 31st and 35th in pass attempts. They have not really been tested by a true running team. GL either way.

If there is one thing TCU has done well over the years under Patterson, it's stop the run. That is his #1 goal on the defensive side of the ball no matter who they play, stop the run. This is a great spot to back TCU.

agree, i don't see KS lighting up the scoreboard in this one.. also starting to think the under might be a solid play. Think Patterson will be hellbent on having success running the ball.
