Worst luck in the betting world?

Knowing that this guy spent 2 years in a dorm room with me eons ago to explains my luck.  However look at these unlikely numbers.

Three weeks ago, (person #1) hits $6,000 parlay off a $500 bet. Then builds upon 6k, turns it into $15k after hitting 1K bet on Oregon 1st half over Washington.

In just one week, MLB playoffs/CFB combined, loses every cent of it.  The last 2K was stupidly bet on San Jose St. over Utah St. because he was too late putting in Alabama -28 over Mizzou.  He then continuously adds $500 incriments into his betting account until it builds to a defecit of $4,530 dollars of debt total.  Add that to being up 15k, and the man lost just under 20 thousand dollars in two weeks. 

His last loss: tailing me (for the first time mind you!) on MTSU (1st half) and WKU (2nd half).  Won MTSU, put it all on WKU 2nd.

Microcosm of America.  The guy works for the Army Corps of Engineers, makes well over 100k and blows it all on this.  Puts money to help build more casinos in the carribbean with money that could have researched cancer.

This story, hopefully persuades some to reconsider trying to make sports betting a 2nd income.  You won't.  Makes me almost never want to bet another game.

or he just sucks at picking. you may hit the occasional big parlay hit, but most will just piss it all back.

I'm not the best handicapper either, but I know when to learn after a mistake (like tonight WKU 2nd half for instance.)

But this guy.  This guy will go ahead, drop $500 more in his account and wager away on whoever is playing tomorrow...Wash/Cal? 

I know a few more like him.  I just never was texted EXACT NUMBERS of losses following up screenshots of graded wagers in the last three weeks. 

This is how most Americans do it from my studies (ESPECIALLY AGES 21-28).  I watch idiot kids at MGM, Hard Rock, Wynn.  I talk to many (MOST) who use Bovada, some Bookmaker, seldom 5dimes and one bet365.

I'm doing a story for the Tribune Review here in Pittsburgh about the patterns of young kids betting on sports, the money lost on it, and the astronomical increase of kids doing it.

Just in Pittsburgh, polling 100 kids (18-28) 59 of them have bet at least $50 or more on sports.  42 of them admit they still currently find ways of betting.  Like I said, that is just a small piece of the pie in Pittsburgh. 

When I expand this poll, I will show many where our economy is and how fine it's doing.

lots of young people wager on sports globally. with online gambling you have the unknown figure which i would assume is substantial. most younger people they dont track line movements etc they just see a big favorite at a favorable line and will jump on it etc. let us know with your findings drizzle when you expand your research as i expect you will have a huge dark figure with the whole online gambling part

I already did a story with Henry Hill, Tim Donaghey on shaving points.  But in the story, I grabbed a study with the help of the U of Cincinnati in which we found that 25 percent of 2,000 male student-athletes at the Division-1 basketball and football levels admitted to wagering on college sports events other than their own while in college. Four percent admitted to wagering on games in which they had played. Three athletes said they actually changed the outcome of the game in which they participated.

That is just the ones who admitted.  I can tell you that close to 50% of them would have failed miserably on a lie detector test.

small sample size but wow expanding that to all of america and the numbers are indeed surprising
