#1 Posted: 10/2/2012 8:07:09 PM The mountaineers are +6.5. I have not seen much to think that the Horns can beat this team by a touchdown this weekend.
And maybe I am putting WAY too much stock into the 70 point showing this past weekend.
The Ole Miss game was a good one on both sides of the ball but the defense has been a bit of a let down this year. Manny Diaz was supposed to have this guys pitching shut outs.
Which way are you guys leaning with this game? |

#2 Posted: 10/2/2012 8:19:17 PM i was surprised the line was as high as it was... looks like the public is pounding WV as 75% of bets coming in on them. so i think its texas or nothing here. although i read that texas has not been great tackling in space this year. so i may just pass.

#3 Posted: 10/2/2012 9:25:34 PM Bit of a letdown on defense for the Shorthorns???? Talk about a huge letdown... Manny Diaz is coaching his way out of a HC position |

Pretty much how I feel as well. I don't see why this line didn't open at -3 instead of -7. Scoring 70 on Baylor is no great shakes, but the media made it out to be Geno Smith's defining Heisman Trophy moment. Things won't come so easily against the Longhorns in Austin. |

#5 Posted: 10/2/2012 9:43:56 PM i'm looking at TEXAS as one of my plays this week...i am laughing at all this Geno Smith heisman talk.....Geno smith will crumble under the 1st real pressure he's faced all year..
texas' defense hasn't played great, but they'll get much more pressure on smith which will turn into TO's
no way i'd put my money behind Geno Smith

#8 Posted: 10/2/2012 10:15:37 PM Texas is gonna run the ball and play for ball control and time of possession.. Limit the number of possessions WVU has.. I don't think that WVU has played a team with a defense like Texas, nor have they played against an O-Line as good as Texas.. Alot of people have short term memories and will see WVU's last game and think that they can stay within the 7 or win outright.. If Texas can get some stops early and pound the rock with their run game, they will cover this game.. WVU has historically not done well against strong defenses (LSU last year as an example).. |

#9 Posted: 10/2/2012 10:22:31 PM Texas will stop them at some point and that will be the difference. No sec defense, but good enough to cover the spread. WV may as well put cones out because they don't cover person. |

#10 Posted: 10/3/2012 7:55:38 AM Does it change the fact that Malcolm Brown is unavailable for the game Saturday? Looks like we will see a lot of Johnathan Grey.
Cajun- As long as Ash can make some plays, I agree that WVU wont cover the WRs.

#12 Posted: 10/3/2012 11:38:39 AM Yes it makes a difference, but maybe not a whole lot. Jonathan Gray is starting to get in his zone and his potential is turning into production on the field. Texas has the 1-2 tier athletes coming out of HS in the state of Texas. Baylor gets maybe a couple 2's but most of their team consist of 3-5 tier athletes from HS in Texas. So atleast you know that Texas can physically keep up with WV high powered O unlike Baylor. They just need to stay disciplined on D. I wouldn't even touch this game because I think it could turn out to be an amazing game to watch and enjoy. When I have money on a game I lose a sense of appreciation for the turnout. I'm a pure spectator on this one fellas! |

#16 Posted: 10/3/2012 11:59:58 AM I agree with givemepoints, their D is not disciplined at all. They have the athletes but aren't playing up to their potential. |

#18 Posted: 10/3/2012 12:51:44 PM I see UT winning this game but by 3-4 pts and they might lose by a few points. Texas defense is the best defense WV will face so so far this season but there are not a SEC D.Last year they jumped on LSU early if they do that to Texas it is over. Texas D also is not doing a good good of tackling in space which will be exploited by WV. |

LSU late year? did you even watch the game? the score had nothing to do with the game wass played wvu came back and had it to down 7 with all the momentum in the world and lsu ran that kick back. after that the crowd went dead and so did the team for the last half of 4th qr.
DID YOU SEE WHAT WVU DID TO CLEMSON LAST YEAR IN THE BOWL GAME???
WVU ML 5UAND.. WVU +7.5 10U

#23 Posted: 10/3/2012 3:14:54 PM Agree with most of the analysis on here. Everyone is too high on WVU but 7 pts is too many. Close game that WVU will most likely win outright. Even if Texas can get a few stops WVU will put up points. Not sure Texas can keep up with them |

#25 Posted: 10/3/2012 9:39:27 PM giving up 63 points and squeeking by Baylor at home is less than impressive....
this is wvu's first Big 12 conf. road game in a hostile environment at night...and oh, by the way, now G. Smith has the pressure of heisman talk floating in the head...
public is pounding wvu....
pick is clear to me....LONGHORNS |
