"  This Georgia team has 4-5 first round picks on its defense, which has admittedly been underpeforming. "

I did not know they have maybe 5 first round picks on defense.

Please tell me who they are.

The Georgia D was without 4 starters the first two games and 2 starters for games 3 & 4.  This is going to be a slugfest.  I think Shaw makes more mistakes than Murray.  I'm taking the dogs.

Way to get my back ScottRF.  Yeah, Georgia has to play up to their potential in a big game one of these years, right?  Why not Saturday?  Haha, you guys are going to talk me out of my bet and I am going to end up taking Air Force as my bet of the week.

Leading WR out for the season for Georgia, they have good depth there, but it hurts to lose the top WR mid-week before the biggest game of the year to date.

Rambo is the only one of the 5 that is not a sure fire 1st rounder in the 2013 draft.

Don't worry about the injury, take Georgia and you'll be fine.

John Jenkins and Jarvis Jones are the only two that are expected to be a first round pick.

Scouts Inc. has Jarvis Jones #1 prospect, Jenkins #5, Ogletree #19 and Williams #18.  Some others have Rambo in the 1st round as well and he had 8 INTs last year.  Of course, not that it matters if they don't perform as a unit up to their potential.

funny, this is so typical of UGA.  have a bunch of 1st round picks and they barely beat Tenn at home and give up 44.   wonder how much of it is Richt's fault.  kind of like when they had stafford and moreno and didn't live up to expectations. they were loaded that year too.

Uga's Bennett out, SC night game, spurrier>richt, Georgia's Oline subpar in pass protection, UGA relying on freshman rbs whe SC has lattimore and veteran backups

All of that equals SC winning the turnover battle and the game
SC -2.5 is the play

I'm a Gator fan, and have to say both sides have valid points.  UGA should win this game, but as history shows, it's hard to think they're going to play up to the potential of all that talent, especially at nite in Cockville.  I don't think this is a strong play either way.  Too close to call for me to bet too much on it.  GL, I'll be for the Cocks since we have them coming to the Swamp this year, and prolly a better shot at getting them than the Dawgs

A lot. At Florida State he was regarded highest for his recruiting not his coaching ability. After all these years, little has changed. If people can't see that SoCar has a decided advantage at the areas that matter in a game of this magnitude then to hell with them. Let them lose.

usc has'not seen a team like the bulldogs all year...down 17-7 to kentucky at half thats a mess..beat missouri..we did too..beat alabama-birmingham...we could too...beat e.carolina...we could too...and remember vandy could-have got that win...but i c usc came out on top 17-13...not 2 good of a win...we gave vandy a good ole behind kicking 48-3...so what i c usc do have a dam good defence and uga do too...and another thing i c is usc offence is not what it was 2years ago...usc do-not have a good passing game...usc run game is dam good...so usc is going to beat uga with the run game...i do-not think so..uga can move the foot-ball on the ground and in the air...uga-ML g/l on what side u pick...

Can someone explain why the line was at -2 USC at noon before the news of Bennett, then shortly after it went to +/-?  I figured it would have went to -3.5ish.

Without being handed 20 points via turnovers, UT scored 24 points.

Everyone is selling the UGA D short so I will buy them. Look at the plays they made when the game mattered. UGA has been tested twice this season, on the road at Mizzouri and at home against Tennessee. Look at how the defense performed in crunch time:

UGA @ Mizzou
Going into the 4th, UGA had just scored to go up 24-20. UGA promptly stops a fake FG. UGA FG to go up 7. The UGA D stops Mizzou after a long run to force a punt. The UGA offense stalls. On the next drive, the UGA D returns an interception to the 1. UGA offense scores a TD. The next drive UGA gets a sack fumble returned to the Mizzou 5. UGA scores a TD. Game over.

UT @ UGA
In the middle of the 4th quarter, UT scores a TD with 8:56 left to make this a 7 pt game. UGA offense stalls after 1 first down. UT gets the ball back with all of the momentum. The UGA defense responds with an INT. UGA offense goes 3 and out. UT drives into UGA territory and UGA forces a fumble. The UGA offense stalls yet again and at the very end UGA forces another interception.

UGA has the stigma of being a team that chokes, but in these two instances this season their defense rose up to close out two big games.

I was all about SC, but just saw the big line move from SC -2.5 to a pick em.  That's too big to ignore, someone laid lumber on Georgia.

I don't see how the line moves against South Carolina on the day UGA loses its top WR. Hope it gets to a pick em or better...
