I have heard some on here say take Utah State they almost beat Auburn last year. Auburn Tigers are not who you think they are. Auburn has absolutely no defense. Also, keep in mind that Utah State's offense is not the same offense that 'almost beat Auburn' this year as you'll find out if you read further. diligence
Further evaluations indicate a huge discrepancies in player talent especially on the offensive and defensive lines for Utah Utes that make the talent pool for Utah State seem Sun Belty.
Look at Phil Steele's 2012 preseason All Pac-12 teams. Utah State is rebuilding the O/D.
Utah State: Last season: 7-6 overall, 5-2 in WAC (2nd in league)
Five of Utah State's victories last season came by seven or fewer points, including four by four or fewer. Utah State ranked sixth in the nation in rushing last season at 282.7 yards per game, but the Aggies lost their top two rushers (Robert Turbin and Michael Smith combined for 2,387 yards and 28 TDs).
Utah State was 97th nationally in passing last season. The front seven on defense is undergoing a makeover, and the Aggies really will miss LBs Bobby Wagner and Kyle Gallagher. Utah State needs someone to emerge as a consistent pass rusher.
UTAH: Last Season: 8-5 overall, 4-5 in Pac-12 Utah's first season in the Pac-12 went well, thanks to a defense that led the conference in points allowed and finished in the top three in total defense, rush defense and pass efficiency defense.JC transfer John White rushed for a school single-season record 1,519 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Returning starters (minimum 7 starts last season): Offense (9) – G Sam Brenner,WR DeVonte Christopher, WR Reggie Dunn, QB Jon Hays, G Miles Mason, WR Luke Matthews, TE Kendrick Moeai, C Tevita Stevens, TB John White.
Defense (7) – SS Brian Blechen, E Joe Kruger,T Dave Kruger, CB Ryan Lacy, T Star Lotulelei, LB Trevor Reilly, FS Eric Rowe. Special teams (2) – K Coleman Peterson, P Sean Sellwood. Fast fact: Utah has won at least eight games nine seasons in a row.

I agree. Utah has no weakness just rock solid across the board and experienced. If USC was playing at Utah St the line would be 24+ but because its a "Friday night rivalry game home dog incredible QB" angle game you only have to lay 7 pts with a Utah team that is a notch below USC and Oregon but a top 20 team IMO. GL

lol, you're trying to discredit Utah St for almost beating Auburn last year? That was literally Chuckie Keeton's FIRST game, playing an SEC team, defending national champs ON THE ROAD. They were an Auburn onside kick away from pulling the monumental upset. Obviously this wasn't the same Auburn team without Cam, but they went 8-5, beat the likes of Miss St, South Carolina, Florida, and Virginia. I love Utah this year, but think this is a tough spot and discrediting a good Utah St team helps nobody here IMO. Utah St will open the offense up this year under Chuckie's sophmore campaign. Playmakers on the outside, I'm on Utah St but GL

Reading comprehension.... He was not discrediting the victory, he was bringing to light that the team that gave Auburn a run last year is a different Utah St team THIS year... Different RB's (Responsible for most of the rushing offense are gone) This is something to think about... Nonetheless, GL, but read his article again, slowly, there is VERY GOOD information in there. good UTAH st team --- no way, its average at most, and last year aggies arnt this year..they lost tons of talent not to mention 1-2 RB punch..that was all their offense by the way cus QB sucks....home field wont be advantage either... its a rivalry for sure... but better talent and Deffense lies with the utes for sure
