0-0 (+0.0)
Clemson -3.5 (4 UNITS) Big advantage at QB for Clemson. Frazier will have to be very good because AU isn't going to run for 230 yards like last year and they don't have Superman like 2 years ago. Watkins not playing is a concern but they have playmakers. Auburn's issues on the OL will make it hard for them to take advanatge of a young Clemson DL. The only drawback on the play is CLemson's OL issues. Auburn has a decent front but the lack of depth in the secondary and their lack of ability at LB will likely mean a long night against the Clemson spread offense. CLEMSON 34 AUBURN 20
***One unit is a normal play.
I will have a couple of more. |

#2 Posted: 8/28/2012 1:07:46 PM I'm leaning Clemson here, but there offensive line has me worried, especially since Auburn's DLine is the strength of their team. Factor in the home crowd and I'm having a tough time pulling the trigger.
One thing working for Clemson is that Auburn's QB situation is terrible! |

#3 Posted: 8/28/2012 1:26:07 PM Appreciate your thoughts. The O-line is definitely one of the key areas when capping these games. |

#5 Posted: 8/28/2012 1:34:22 PM You are right. Saw them listed as the home team. My mistake. Still should out number clemson fans in the dome. |

#6 Posted: 8/28/2012 1:44:27 PM I was at the dome in 2008 when Clemson played Bama and it was a 50/50 split. I see no advantage here. I do understand your reluctance to back Clemson with their OL issues. |

#7 Posted: 8/28/2012 3:16:10 PM Auburn also has some serious OL issues as well. Their starting center is not playing and I think there are 4 players making their first ever start on the OL. |

#8 Posted: 8/28/2012 3:26:30 PM Auburn's OL is a disaster. They have made a change at OC and in their offensive philosophy supposedly going from spread to pro. They don't have pro style RB's and Frazier is much more suited to playing in the spread IMO. I think their offense is a dumpster fire. Clemson doesn't have a lot of experience on the DL but they have good athletes with good size. |

#9 Posted: 8/28/2012 3:39:02 PM Valid concern about Clemmys OL. But at the end of the day Auburn has more serious issues than Celmmy. Their QB will not be able to produce significant points in this one to overpower Taj Boyd. Their starting Center will not be playing week 1. Thats huge especially for a relatively inexperienced QB. We might see one or two bad snaps that may lead to a fumble. And they dont have Dyer anymore. I just plain and simply dont see much offensive production with Auburn week 1. Now yes their Dline may dominate the trenches, however, it wont be significant enough for them to cover 3.5. Just my opinion GL Clemmy let WVU hang 70 on em last game and Im sure they havent forgotten |

#12 Posted: 8/28/2012 9:31:26 PM Yacker - I like the pick. Like you said, AU has issues and it's their 1st game with 2 new coordinators, so I expect some mistakes/breakdowns. CU wins 28-17 |

#13 Posted: 8/30/2012 11:37:40 AM Added Thursday Night Plays:
South Carolina -6 (1 UNIT) - South Carolina's defense is very athletic in the front seven. Clowney will step up to become one of the premier pass rushers in the nation this year. Vanderbilt returns 4 of 5 OL but this particular matchup will be tough for their OL. Vandy's QB, Rodgers, will have to be on his game because I expect South Carolina to do a good job against the run. South Carolina's secondary is a question mark but I really believe that the Cock's pass rush will allow their new guys time to develop. South Carolina's offense will be led by Lattimore. If he is healthy then he will have a big year but you never know until you see him in action. Shaw played pretty well to close the year and I expect him to continue to improve. He is an athletic guy as well which will help with an OL that has to replace a couple of good players. South Carolina has some great skill and Lattimore is a Heisman type RB. Vandy was solid on defense last year and I expect them top be again this year as well. I think the difference is that South Carolina has an advantage in playmakers on both sides of the ball. I won't be surprised if we see a game similar to last year where South Carolina's defense was dominate and did just enough offensively.
UNDER 45.5 South Carolina/Vanderbilt (1 UNIT)
