Tennessee will have an edge at the Georgia Dome as far as fan support, but O'Brien is a heck of coach.
O'Brien >>> Dooley |

#5 Posted: 8/19/2012 1:11:55 PM Tennessee hasn't finished the season ranked since 2007.
Losing record in 2008 Crushed by VT in a bowl in 2009 Lost to UNC in a bowl in 2010 Losing record in 2011
The top SEC teams: LSU, Alabama and Arkansas rolled Tennessee by a combined 124-20 last year. |

That is the exact line of thinking that may well drive this number up, 4 seems fair to me but after the SEC lovefest is done may just drop another play on the pack ---obrien has been an ATS beast |

#7 Posted: 8/19/2012 5:31:08 PM I think NC State has a great chance to win, but this game just seems too much like a coin flip for me to wager any money on.

#10 Posted: 8/19/2012 6:12:52 PM why do you like navy? you know last year's score in south bend...yes, it was 56-14 n dame...granted, nd will be without the services of floyd, but will probably have a better qb.. plus the game is in dublin in front of 45K Fighting Irish partisans..just curious...i have heard navy D was young last year by plan...do you think they have stepped up in a year to be competitive in this game...you made the pick, it would help if you would support the pick...OBVIOUSLY I LIKE N DAME HERE, SO WE DISAGREE, TELL ME WHY MY N DAME PICK IS ILL ADVISED...THANKS IN ADVANCE, CHEERS... |

#12 Posted: 8/19/2012 7:41:44 PM I play Navy almost every yr vs Army and I usually cap this game right but Navy is hard to figure out. They have beat Domers 3 out 5..are they gonna be the Navy that plays Sc strong or the one that loses to so miss by 28@ home..I lean Navy, but I dont like it being in Ireland..Love to see Navy beat NotreDame .Its put up or shut up for BK who has been a disappiontment.I dont think Notre Dame will ever flirt w a another Nat Champ in my lifetime.Kidsb just dont care about the 4 horseman and being Cathletic..lol |

#13 Posted: 8/19/2012 7:50:49 PM Tenn is my pick of the weekend .Tenn has a good 1st string but they have had probs staying healthy. They routed a good Cincy team early last yr.O brien is safe and this is a must WIN for Dooley..if he loses Tenn should start a coaching search bc its gonna be a LONG season.I thought they shouldve never messed w Fulmer..when u coach 18 yrs ur gonna have a couple of bad ones.UT fans think they have a program like Okla,al,LSU..they cry all the time.I do think Bray is helluva QB and I like the Dooleys..Vince ( auburn man ) & Barbara is halarious on radio.Tenn pulls out a CAN Fri night lights.. |

Just a gut feeling for me on this one, feel the middies can keep it within the number, no real big deal either way, just another day in the grinder and I'll be firing away afterwards on another game regardless of outcome, Go Navy |

#21 Posted: 8/20/2012 1:32:11 AM Tenn too much for NCState.. maybe on paper NCSt might match up but this Tenn team is quite possibly the hungriest team in ncaa's right now. nfl talent all across the board coach on hot seat, gonna take a top notch performance to beat vols week 1...
NCst on other hand is coming off a pretty good season with a comfortable head coach and nfl talent is not there like it is with Tenn.. not even close
Vols have not had a rb's coach past 2 yrs=poor rushOff.. said to be a regret of Dooley's vols hired former SCarolina rb coach Jay Graham this offseason and hired new Oline coach Pittman UNC... vols run improvement big talk of camp
add that to pass game and look out
-PhilSteele preseason power poll Tenn21 NCst44

By all means pound tenn, can't argue with the vols talent level,,brays off season woes seem to indicate the ol million dollar arm with a 10 cent mind deal, but pound away and drive that number |

#23 Posted: 8/20/2012 1:39:54 AM Game is coin flip, glennon is rated right behind bray as NFL qb prospect and plays for more complete team with better coach who is 6-1 ats on neutral sites |

#24 Posted: 8/20/2012 1:55:11 AM 2011 off yards per play:
#94 Tenn 5.04 #104 NCst 4.90
keep in mind this is a vols team playing in the sec that was missing its top overall player WR JHunter all year and Bray out several games (broken hand)
and vols played 7th hardest schedule in ncaas including Bama LSu Arkansas all of which were top 10 games
NCst played 71st toughest schedule
Vols will also have more fans at the game
