Trotter got beat out before midseason last yr.He played in Chick Filet Bowl bc Mosely got hurt.Auburn has 2 qbs that played more last yr which is still a question mark.

This is one of my three favorite Saturday games, and I love Clemson. With or without Sammy Watkins I think Clemson cruises to a DD win. With all due respect to your Tigers, they are a tire fire right now, and in for a very long season in my opinion. I don't see many wins on that schedule.

Auburn will probably not score 28 points in their first two games combined.

I will probably do a full write-up on this game at some point. I just like doing it closer to the end of fall camp when the position battles have run their course. I will say that this play is primarily a fade Auburn play becasue of the atrocious state of their football program at the moment.
Auburn has a legitimate shot of being the worse offensive team in the SEC this year. Like Florida last season, Auburn is trying to make the transition from a spread to a pro-style attack, and like Florida, they don't have even close to the personnel on campus to run an effective pro-style offense. As bad as Florida was last season in their transitional season, Auburn is likely to be even worse because they are far less talented than Florida was/is. Even the Auburn pundits are constrained to admit that they don't have a SEC caliber QB on the roster, so they really won't be much of a threat in the passing game, and they are going to try to engender a smash mouth offensive with a 170 lbs scat back. To predict that this team is going to score between 28-31 points against Clemson is almost laughable. If Auburn is going to win this game it's going to be more like a 13-10 score.
While I would concede that Auburn should (or at least on paper should) have an advange in the trenches, particularly Auburn's d-line versus Clemson's o-line, I don't think the advantage is nearly as big as you perceive it to be. In fact pending the availablility of Sullen and Slade, I might be inclined to give Clenson's d-line the advantage.
Moreover, offensively Clemson is one of, if not the most talented teams in the nation. They have a whole lot more talent than just Sammy Watkins. And this being Clemson's second year under offensive coordinator Chad Morris will also greatly benefit them on that side of the ball.
The bottom line here is that Clemson is going to score. They are going to score on pretty much anyone. Auburn, on the other hand, will struggle mightily to score. This is shaping up to be something like a 34-10 Clemson win IMHO.
