#51 Posted: 8/5/2012 5:45:30 PM Like most all of those...on a few myself *really like Cal....iffy on UCLA and Tennessee (tho 3 not bad value)
Will be on Texas also....With a full stable of (healthy) backs ...Horns should roll Their FOCUS.....being physical / running the ball....just happens to be Wyoming's weakness
*allowing 5.1/rush LY....bullied by mighty Temple in the bowl gave up 263 rushing to Col St 312 to AF 227 to Weber St 303 to Utah St 390 to TCU 333 to Nebraska............ *they lost their top 3 players up front from THAT D.....then st DE Durbin transferred....QB Smith is off hand surgery.....RB Alexander left early for nothing
Now.....they are moving away from a 4 man front.....and using a 3-3-5 ....which might suit them better in the MTW .......but not here *technically a "multiple" front...but in the spring they used the 3-3-5 mostly
Best of luck man..........

I'm not saying I am playing that teaser as I rarely tease college games- but for those who "worry" about a back door cover they can come in handy. I like way too many games right now and am trying to narrow it down to 5 or 6 games. It's hard to believe that all those teams will cover all those big spreads. I have Alabama locked in at -11.5 and I am looking real hard at UCLA and Nebraska. |

I know.as I reread my response,I don't think it sounded right. I apologize as it sounded somewhat harsh.I was trying to say good handicapping,IMO, is better than a 10 point teaser, and fewer plays with an "edge" is better than a lot of action without an edge.BOL in week 1 and the rest of the season as well.

#56 Posted: 8/6/2012 8:01:51 PM doly - if you find a quote that supports your point, then please post it hear. i want to back usc -38, i really do, but kiffin is such a prick,i could seeing him call off the dogs and allow a potential back door cover...i am still on the fence with this one. usc could win by 70+, but the politics of the situation may prelude that...in addition, Kiffin will have Syracuse in the Meadowlands to impress the east coast sports writers in week 2...please someone, confirm to me that Kiffin wants to open a can of whoop behind on chow and the rainbows... |

Obviously I like Alabama,as I bet it early @ Alabama -10, UCLA,I want to see how well they pick up on Mora's system.I'll pass on that (looking at them wk.3 vs Houston). Taylor Martinez ( Nebraska QB) is not consistent enough for me to wager on him, which is what I would be doing if I bet Nebraska.I believe that there are other opportunities in week 1 that offer better value, and you don't have to give up as many points.

For what It's worth, you might take a look at S.Carolina -61/2, as I believe that to be a good value pick.GL

South Carolina is definitely on my radar. It just seems Vandy always plays "up" to their competition. I haven't read how good Lattimore looks in practice. I still have to cap that game. I think with South Carolina catching Vandy early in the season will help them. Just seems like it could be one of those 20-14 snooze fest type games. I absolutely hate Martinez but I have guys close to the USM program who have assured me they will have a very trying season after losing so much talent. I think Kiffen runs up the score and USC should win by 50 but I just hate that prick and program. But I will try not to let that blindside me when it comes to capping these games. Good luck and I'm sure we'll be on the same side of some of these games. I sure wish I could have gotten Bama at -10. |

You may not think a whole lot about Kiffin. But remember this: If he can make you some cash, perhaps you can just"tolerate' him for about 31/2 hours.GL

FYI, The coach I can't stand is Kirk Ferentz.I swear,he must know when I'm wagering on him.I don't know what he's got against me' but I can't cash a ticket on him.I'm sure we've all got a story like that.GL

#64 Posted: 8/6/2012 10:48:43 PM I can't see USC letting up with them #3 in the polls. I think Kiffen will put up as many points as possible throughout the year. I can see a 56-10 USC blowout against Hawaii. |

Although I'm a big Hawai'i Warriors fan.Been there for a few Hawai'i Bowls, but best time I ever had there was when Hawai'i and Colt Brennan came from behind to beat Washington and go undefeated for regular season.I believe USC will be way too much for Hawai'i to handle.

bookie - nice work as usual...was looking at some of those same rushing matchups and believe the Horns go for 300+ running, had forgotten about the 3-3-5 angle even though saw mention in the spring....hope they use it a lot here, BOL this season man
longhorn - yeah actually had started early look at that USC-Cuse matchup....currently -23 on 5 dimes...could be a couple different depending on first week of course...agree Kiffin will probably be looking at east coast angle (better not be noon EST start though)...number seems a little high for my liking...trojans won 38-17 in LA with 500+ yds and Barkley 5 TDs...nassib better than I recal at 22-9 TD-INT and I guess they're adding WR Sales from a couple years ago...should be decent crowd for orange...we'll see how camp and week 1 goes I guess...could be kind of simlar to last year possibly even a closer
nccapper - what's happening my friend , looking forward to talking some NC or other teams, BOL this year

#68 Posted: 8/7/2012 10:19:51 AM wareagle - yeah I would think so
longhorn - also another factor forgot to mention after Cuse is @Stanford...that's gonna be a much bigger game for them in the long run...still should handle easily, factor in margin though |

#69 Posted: 8/7/2012 10:30:37 AM Longhorns- Won't have a quote but do know that for a fact...But also remember he played Chow while he was O coord at UCLA and Kiff at TN and Chow won...Kiffin wanted to beat the brakes off him then too. |

#74 Posted: 8/7/2012 8:17:55 PM I don't see really any realistic way Michigan or Boise have any chance winning week 1. Yes, they are great and good programs but they are against the elite in Alabama and a far superior MSU team that hasn't lost at home in two years...
S. Carolina looks like a great way to start the year, reports are Lattimor is 100%, Shaw looks good, defense should be terrific again, Vandy lost their 4 main guys on D and will not stop USC offense. |
