#2 Posted: 7/6/2012 10:58:04 PM too many changes, too many new faces on offense for both of these teams, and the schedules for both are very tough. LSU has a real chance to lose 4 games, how they can be 10.5 on the O/U is crazy.
mich st is a little scary, but i'm banking on their new qb and new wr's to go through issues early on and they limp in with 7, max 8 wins

#3 Posted: 7/7/2012 1:54:16 AM LSU being placed in the "banking right now" category is a little crazy my friend. But it takes a little crazy to win the cash in CFB sometimes.

#4 Posted: 7/7/2012 2:18:20 AM LSU is NOT losing 4 games. They are significantly better than every team on their schedule except Alabama. They might lose 1. There is an anerexic shot of them losing two. There is zero chance they lose more than two . . . ZERO.

@ Auburn @ Florida v South Carolina @ Texas A&M v Alabama v Miss State @ Arkansas
yes, they will ABSOLUTELY lose at least 2 of those games, which is why UNDER 10.5 is a great bet
case closed. this is so effing obvious.

#6 Posted: 7/7/2012 12:08:26 PM i said they have a "real chance to lose 4 games", meaning they will be very fortunate to go 10-2 as they could easily have 4 losses
LSU under Miles:
2010: 2 conf losses 2009: 3 2008: 5 2007: 2 2006: 2
yeah, 10.5 was the right number to set it at
LMFAO

you sound so confident in a new qb who has not taken real game snaps in meaningful games, not to mention so many other new starters
you are going to eat your words come december
you better come back in here and admit you were wrong, be a man

agree I think Les miles is a buffoon, but as I have said before. I think this particular LSU team may actually be the most talented team in the country top to bottom. I think there athleticism alone will win them games.
So under 10.5 ...... I personally wouldn't touch the under.

Zach Mettenberger starting at QB for the first time. i repeat, METTENBERGER starting for the first time
youth in the skill spots all around him
6 brand new starters on D
what exactly are you basing this statement of them being the most talented team top to bottom in the country?
USC is the most talented team top to bottom. they might slip up or barkley could get hurt, but USC is the most talented.
Alabama, based on recruiting rankings, has more talent in their starting 22 right now than LSU does
i am not sure what you guys are seeing
LSU 9-3, and my wager wins

LSU 9-3, and my wager wins Mettenberger is light years better then any QB LSU had on the roster last season. Stick around and you will find out.
LSU has depth like you wouldn't believe it.
Depth is big in the college game and LSU has it.

the 2 LSU senior QBs struggled most of last yr. Mettenberger was a soph, not a redshirt. if he was light years ahead of the other 2, then why didn't he play?

Mettenberger has 92 career passing yds at LSU.
slow down bro, you're talking to a guy (me) who has followed college football religiously for 30 years. i know way too much than to start calling guys great who have not taken any meaningful snaps in games
Mettenberger will be nowhere close to as good this year as you think
book that

the scores will be low but mich state will have lots of trouble scoring w/brand new wr's and a new qb, not to mention a new te. only 5 guys return offensively. so that spells trouble.
tough games:
ND OSU Iowa @ Mich @ Wisky Nebraska Northwestern
yes, i see the spartans losing 4 of those games, and i'm not sleeping on cent mich havin a shot to beat them either
i see you're from michigan, which is clearly clouding your judgment

LSU beats Bama by 3 in last yr's reg season, in a game that most of us saw Bama outplay LSU in, then Bama DISMANTLES LSU in the BCS Champ gm, only an hr away from LSU's campus, and you are asking who in the country can match up with better talent at more than 1 position?
USC AND BAMA ARE BOTH BETTER OVERALL TEAMS THAN LSU IN TERMS OF PURE TALENT, PLAYER FOR PLAYER
LSU finishes 9-3
i said they have 4 games that could really be losses
i'll give them 9-3, and my UNDER 10.5 covers

This would not be a terrible bet at the right odds, but at negative odds, it is a huge sucker bet.
I've been calling Lesticle the village idiot since he arrived on the SEC scene, and only through his incompetence could LSU lose two games this season; certainly possible. But fortunately for LSU fans, Lesticle has assembled an outstanding coaching staff who are probably smart enough not to include him in any decision making.
As we sit here in July, I would say that LSU has the most talented starting 22 in the country, although USC and Alabama would certainly be in the argument. Who else??? I think other teams like Oregon, Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia & Florida State are at least a notch below those 3.
If we are speaking in terms of overall roster talent, I think Alabama is the clear #1 followed by LSU.
Best of luck to you this season Boom. Can't wait to get this garbage kicked off!!!
