Assuming both win openers and no injuries.....

Does Richt and crew warrant being favorites in this spot? I know they have a solid defense returning (although the corners are possibly suspended?) Murray lost some pieces around him so the offense wont be hitting on all cylinders early imo. Mizzou will struggle on both sides of the ball getting used to the speed and power and if Franklins passing hasnt improved the Tigers are in trouble.....

Pretty sure this will be a night game on national tv as its the biggest game of the weekend....gameday is a possibility. Thinking this is -3 either way......

Thoughts? Would love to hear the SEC homers opinions. I have no delusions about my school and if the suck I will be the first one to boo them.....

I'll say UGA -4 though I'm not a SEC homer or really a SEC fan

way to much early love for the Bulldogs who will be in top 5 I'm sure to start the year..

-4 wouldnt surprise me (-8 or 9 wouldnt either). I just dont think UGAs 1st roadie in a strange place warrant chalk even though they have the better talent.

UGA is the same exact football team for over 6 years now. They have the easiest schedule I have ever seen in the SEC.

Georgia has had the easiest schedule the last two years no doubt.... But at least these guys will go play out of conference games

Historically Missouri has been a SEC killers.  As long as Mark Richt is on the sidelines fo Georgia, I like Missouri.

I think it will be a really tight line... anywhere from UGA -2 to -5

UGA isn't the team to display the physical style of SEC play to introduce Mizzou to the SEC. UGA is always prone to lose games like this outright.

UGA never lives up to their expectations... This is a bad spot for them IMO

True, UAG isnt Bama or LSU, but they are still a middle of the pack SEC squad, which is an upgrade from the middle of the pack Big 12 teams.....

Mizzou will be tough at home.  I like the Tigers if I can catch some points.

Welcome to the SEC    This one is too tough... Georgia has the pieces, but one can only wonder if Richt can put them all together.. or does he have another underachieving team...

Georgia's linebackers and D line will be very strong. Secondary is questionable, due to suspensions, transfers, moving people in to cover the holes those situations created. If Mo's offensive line is strong, this could be exploited.

Offensively, UGA's line is once again an issue. They have not lived up to expectations the last two years, and this year expectations are a lot lower. Crowell looked very good in the spring, but he may decide to stand on the sidelines once real games start. Receiving corp should be better than average. Both punter and placekicker are gone, and I have to believe there will be a fall-off in both.

I don't know enough about Missouri to evaluate strengths vs weaknesses.

I was wondering about the kicking/punting for UGA. Makes a big difference in a 3-pt spread.............IMHO

Georgia always seems to start the season slow and then get hotter as it progresses from winning standpoint. I'm not sure about ATS though.

Because they play no one during that stretch and especially this year.

The way UGA plays defense is what kills them, their DC is not good enough. They either blitz entirely too much or sit back and get picked apart. They did it against MSU in the bowl game at the end and just slowly got beat.

I'm hearing an early line of UGA -5. gotta say i like mizzou getting more than a FG at home here. most people think the tigers won't be able to hang with the SEC and i think UGA is a bit overrated this year. definitely on my radar for the year
