Last week it hit me that i was wagering on far too many road teams even though they had way more talent than the team they were playing. So i asked myself what i truely thought i was doing wrong and it came to me that all the road teams i was picking always seemed to be fighting this uphill battle the home crowd creates. Obviously any sports fan knows that in any sport the home team has a crowd advantage during the game. Now i dont think this is as simple as taking every single home team on the slate because thats obviously not an intelligent decision to come to. I started thinking about how many points i thought a "home crowd" could donate to their team by just being in a familiar stadium and the energy that they produce while their team is being productive.
I wouldnt mind peoples opinion on this so feel free to post a comment and let me know if you really think a crowd can keep a team alive/bring a team back during a game, and how much so.
Again i dont want to sound like im a moron and that know nothing about sports because sports has been my life for the last 10 years and all i would like to know is how much of a REAL advantage do you think is created. I have noticed several times this year in college football that once a crowd gets into the game its almost seems like the road team cant catch its breath and just falls deeper into mistakes created by themselves.
So i guess my real question is.. If you begin to eliminate alot of road teams from your wagers do you think your winning percentage has no choice but to rise simply because its harder to win/cover on the road than it is to play with a crowd who has your back?
