Well last Saturday was one I'd like to forget.  Went 3-5 on Saturday (but 6-6 for the entire week) , and add to that my boy Robbie Hummel going down again with the ACL tear .  Penn St is named "Linebacker U", they should officially rename Purdue as "ACL U" - Football and basketball teams getting nailed with ACL injuries. 

But, I can be somewhat pleased that the Boilers are now 4-2 (2-0) and are tied for the lead in the Big Ten .  I better enjoy it now before it goes downhill from here.

Here's my initial leans for this week:

Thursday Night:

OREGON -22 (hopefully get -21) - Nationally televised, I wouldn't be surprised to see Oregon smack UCLA this week.  Considering they are #1 in both polls yet #2 in the BCS, they will look to get their respect and get that #1 BCS spot.

Saturday:

PURDUE +23 and UNDER ? - Based off past performances when these two teams play, it doesn't matter who the home or away team is it is always competitive.  The Boilers beat the Bucks last year, so revenge will be on the minds as well as them coming off the loss to Wisky.  These games tend to be lower scoring and 23 is just a bit too high here.  Looking to get at least +24 if not higher, but as of now the under is my best bet on this game

RUTGERS +13 (looking to get +14) -  The injury to their teammate may make them play harder, or it could go the other way and they play like shit like they have all year

OKLAHOMA ST +6 (Looking for +7) - Nebraska got exposed last week, lean the home and undefeated Cowboys here.

CLEMSON -6 -  Not sold on Ga Tech, I can see the Tigers rolling here.

IOWA -6 - Liking this play a lot - Wisky off a big emotional home win now has to go on the road against a VERY good Iowa team.

AUBURN -6 - Cam is the real deal.  Not sold on LSU either. 

MIZZOU +3 - Upset of the week?

BOL  Will firm up the final plays as the week goes on

I'm not sold on LSU either, but this defense is pretty nasty. Cam will be up against it for the first time imo....

I felt before the season that Arkansas was the biggest mismatch game for Auburn so getting the W last weekend was huge for the team. I think Auburn matches up very well with LSU and see Cam and company willing Auburn on a way to a double digit win. Also, our Defense as faced the top 3 passing teams in the SEC is why they have been getting exposed so much, not trying to make excuses, they are not playing anywhere near championship caliber but they find a way win which is a sign of a championship team. War Eagle and BOL this weekend.

Auburn only got the win because Mallett got hurt..

Oregon by 35

       BOL this week PP.  Careful backing Missouri this week.  Sooners youth on defense is what made this team do what young teams consistently do,  play up or down to the competition at hand.  Earlier games vs Cinn.  and FSU are a perfect examples of both.  Every game has "seasoned" the freshman and sophmores that have taken over the identity of the Sooners D.   With the exception of last weeks win at an overhyped Tex A&M team, the Tigers haven't given me any reason to think that they won't do what Mizzu teams of the past have done, lose a big game in conference, and to add to that,  Coach Pinkel has to be on of the worst play calling coaches in the history of the Big 12.  Look for the Sooners to galvanize their BCS ranking and play inspired football this week. I know every year is different, but this year should be more of the same, another beat down, by their "big brothers" Oklahoma. Don't see Mizzu's defense having any answers for DaMarco Murrey, or the improved play at QB for the Sooners.  I'll give Gabbert credit where credit's due, but at the end of the day, I see an inspired effort by a young, but improving, Sooner D. being more than he can handle.  BOL and sorry to hear about Hummell and another bad break for your team.
