#301 Posted: 9/4/2010 8:46:57 AM Pending Week 1 Wagers
CAR Payments Wager $190-419
Texas -28 vs Rice (Houston) (5D)
$319 to Win $290
Texas -29 $22 to Win $20
Had to look twice/trice at the Line.... Making sure it was not a 1st Half Spread....Was guessing the Line to be atleast 40+......Sure Rice should be better than 2-10 LY with 18 Returning starters-51 Letterman..... BUT the Owls just DO NOT matchup with the Horns.... Texas has won the last 4 meetings by a AVG of 53-10...Texas has outgained Rice by a Avg. of 303 Yards in the last 10 Meetings....
Current Predicted Score
Texas 51 Rice 7
Cable /SAT/Internet/ "Standard Wager"
89-190
Kansas St ML +120 vs UCLA
$100 to Win $120
UCLA also has PAC 10 rival Stanford on Deck, while K St has wimpy Missouri St next week....The Wildcats have Won 20 Straight Home Openers(so what if they were vs Salsa ST. U).........
Current Predicted Final Score
Kansas St 23
UCLA 16
Kentucky -3(-105) at Louisville (5D)
$157.50 to Win $150
..Louisville looks like garbage this season(once again) I don't look for the Sausage King of Chicago QB Adam Froman to bail them out.... Last year Louisville Covered in this spot catching 13+ ,Losing by 4.... The Wildcats had Florida and Bama on Deck in 2009, this season WKU is up Next ....
Current Predicted Score
Kentucky 30 Louisville 14

#320 Posted: 9/5/2010 12:52:00 PM Double - what happened with Texas? This explains why the line was down -28. That’s what I had and I thought win. I curse myself for betting on my longhorns. A lot of people got burned yesterday because of them.
What does it tell me as a fan? That we will lose to both Nebraska and Oklahoma and maybe one more.
We have weapons, Goodwin and Chiles, a very over rated offensive line, and a moron for an offensive coordinator in Davis...
I will look at Texas at home against Wyoming this next week. If you recall, Wyoming was up big at home against Texas before we woke up and covered. In addition, as another angle, commentator André Ware, former Heisman winner from uh, predicted in the preseason that Wyoming would upset Texas and that this game would be similar to BYU's upset of ou last year. Though André was right last year, hopefully, this will serve as a motivation to our players and hopefully are peace loving head coach to open a can of "behind-wip" on the Wyoming cowboys...
One other observation on my part. If one were betting the 7 games involving the marquee programs at home (or quasi home) against bad patsies, you were 3-5.
Florida - lost ats
Texas - lost ats
Auburn - lost ats
Oklahoma - lost ats
Nebraska - win ats
Oregon - win ats
Georgia - win ats
USC - lost ats
That’s not a good barometer on how the 1st week should go.
I lost on a Nebraska/Texas 2 team parlay. Yes, I know most parlays are for chumps, but I felt in game 1 with Nebraska and Texas, it was a good bet. It was not to be. Live and Learn!
Would appreciate your thoughts on the 8 marquee teams list above for week 2 matchups.
Good luck to you bro!

Big Fan of Andre Ware and his style on ESPN ... one of their only people I Like .....
Wyoming really struggled in week 1 vs Southern Utah ...winning 28-20 as a 21+ Point Fav ...... The Cowboys only Ran the Ball for 36 Yards on 25 Carries..... QB Austyn Carta-Samuels will have to throw the ball 50+ Times this week...(26-32 LW)

great post longhorn...very well said. I was thinking the exact same thing. I was shocked to see Texas not blow Rice out of the stadium, then Auburn let Ark st score 26 points?!! WOW, I think there is alot of uncertainty from week 1 to say the least.... |
