Rumor I heard before this year about Meyer...

I heard this rumor from a few different sources.  I am admittingly a die hard Buckeye fan so my opinion is of course biased so take it for what it's worth.

Before the year I was told that Urban Meyer will be the head coach of the Buckeyes in 2-3 years and Jim Tressel will be the new Athletic Director.

Being from Ohio, I always thought there was a slight possibility this might be true.  But now more than ever it looks like it might actually be a possibility.

Either way...

if this happens, which it won't, it will be very very tough to be a Buckeye fan.

You're right...going south or west is the only way to go.  There are NO teams with football tradition up north now are there???  Especially if the place is where you were born and it's where your family lives.

As a buckeye fan, even I think this is beyond retarded.

However I do find the "health issue" a perfect excuse as Timmay Tebow is graduating.  He loses a game, the next day is in the hospital with reported dehydration, and now he is going to walk away as his mealticket is graduating. 

He was never good at sticking around a program, just ask BGSU and Utah.

I agree 100%  Being from Ohio...being a Buckeye fan...having attended the same college that Jimmy T started his career at I am a true Tressel supporter.

The rumors I heard however have nothing to do with the Buckeyes getting rid of him.  The rumor is that he wants to be done in a couple years and wants to take over as the A.D.

And yes...it was quite shocking to think or hear about before the year.  This just makes me go back on it and wonder if in fact this is a slight possibility.

It's either Health like he said, or he's stepping down and redirecting his focus for NFL in a year or 2. I guarentee it has nothing to do with another college job. He was the head coach of Florida! Regardless he's from Ohio or not. It's not the Browns either right now. Meyer is the type of man, if it was about another job immediately or in the near future, would say it. He didn't, he mentioned Health 3 times in 5 sentences.

Chances are, it probably is truly a health issue.  And if that's that case, I hope this is the absolute best thing for the whole Meyer family.

This just immediately brought to mind what I heard from a few different sources before the year even started.  Seems very coincidental, and it's more than likely me just looking through my scarlet and gray glasses

Are you serious? Right because no one would leave Bowling Green to go to Utah and then leave Utah to go to Florida. What a jerk. He should have stayed at Bowling Green all of this time.
