I couldnt agree with you more KingPin. At the first of the season he took ND as his pick for the champion, and even when they started losing he stood by there side. Never has one bad thing to say about how horrible that coach is and how the players are OVER RATED weekend after weekend. Its time to retire Holtz from the desk so we do not have to hear "I still think ND is the best football team, they have key players at every posistion and the best QB in college football." What the **** has he been smoking??? I could use some what ever it isAlso would like to see NBC get a different contract with a team that actually plays hard every Sat and is not a bunch of mommas pretty boys.

Retire Holtz and get rid of ND every freakin weekend and put someone like Boise St, TCU, or Cincy on for a change.

I have no idea how he is still employed by ESPN as a college football analyst, because as a analyst your job is too give an "unbiased" analysis of each game.

You forget, ND has that "special" contract with NBC. Maybe Comcast will fail to renew it, I don't know how long it is for. Maybe they could at least get Pat "The Homer" Hayden off from being their announcer. When another channel carries ND and he can't announce the TV program he does the radio broadcast. I am really tired of him. He was still pushing the ND QB for the Heisman as of two weeks ago. He may still be, I did not listen to the whole broadcast, just watched the OT.

ESPN doesn&#x27;t try to get unbiased studio analysts. &#xA0;They try to pair "odd couple" analysts what will argue over anything in a lame effort to make their coverage more entertaining. &#xA0;Hence the Holtz-Mark May good cop bad cop routine.Lou Holtz is a very smart guy and knows his stuff and you&#x27;re crazy if you think he actually believes half of his predictions. &#xA0;ESPN wants him to fulfill a certain role and he fills it--just like Mark May.

Just like the population as a whole is split on their love/hate of Notre Dame, ESPN wants its analysts to reflect this public split. &#xA0;This way every ND fan agrees with Holtz and hates May and every ND hater agrees with May and hates Holtz. &#xA0;This way, they get a reaction from every viewer, which is really all they want.

With all that said, it is easy for Holtz to play this role because he does love Notre Dame with his heart and soul.

I just think it's shortsighted for people to hate on him for being biased when he is doing exactly what ESPN hired him to do.

don&#x27;t think he&#x27;s any worse than the MAJORITY of "analysts" we&#x27;re "forced" to listen to......actually listen to Corso lately?......WOW.......Desmond Howard?.......most are terrible......if you are an informed handicapper.....Herbie  is practically only guy that offers anything useful.....May sharp but throws out a bunch of fluff usually
