The total on this game has now moved up to 48. That frankly is the wrong direction. Six weeks ago I might not have made the above statement but now I confidently can.
UNI tonight is playing without starting QB Chandler Harnish and the past few weeks since his injury we have seen a very different offensive style from the Huskies. They are almost 70% run. I see no reason tonight why this would change as Harnish is out and they are playing E. Michigan who can't stop the run.
Last week against Akron... UNI almost went exclusively ground handing it off 54 times for 275 yards and only throwing 18 times. Although 37 points were scored in the game, 21 were scored in the 4th quarter after Akron folded up shop.
In the game prior against Miami O, UNI ran
39 times for 202, and only threw the ball 10 times.
Tonight I see no reason for UNI to break the formula without the services of QB Harnish. E. Mich in their last 3 games has given up an average of 302 on the ground.
In addition to UNI keeping the rushing game moving the clock, there Defense can shut down the E. Mich shell of an offense. UNI over the last 3 games has only allowed an average 59 yards rushing against with a measly points against average of 17.0 per game.
BTW...the 17 point against average over the last 3 games include a meaningless Miami OH TD with 0:01 left in the 4th quarter (in fact their wasn't even a PAT try after the score) So that TD put aside, UNI is really more like 14.0s against per game.
UNDER TONIGHT 48.5

what do u think about 1st half total u think it might go under 24
I would always do the full game as when (hopefully) NIU is way up, they will completely rely on the run when its in hand. They will keep scoring in the first half. I could easily see it 24-3, 27-0, etc. Good luck in whatever you choose.

I am not as sure about the 1st half...as UNI will still have its starters in and will be looking to grow a lead. However, the past several games since UNI has gone to ground and pound even the first half's have had very low point totals.
I would play it UNDER at 24.5 only.

M15, long time follower, and I thank you. What is ur read om the Hokie game? Thanks buddy!
Tiz,
My favorite play in that one is E. Carolina. They play very well defensively and are playing a VT team that in reality isn't that great. I know that VT is heartbroken because of the past few weeks and probably being knocked out of a BCS game...but truth be told...they were never that good to begin with...a good team finds a way and beats UNC last week.
I think it has to be real tough as a VT player to go to practice and meetings with the same enthusiasm this week as it was every week until this point. Some of that focus and discipline had to have been lost.
Just know that college kids will do things like stop drinking, hit the weight room, stay out of trouble....etc....when they are in a BCS or national championship type season...once that hope is gone...the things I listed become easier to do...especially the first week after you get knocked from contention...that's when they binge on the sins. Thats just my handicapping experience...same philosophy as fading teams in the game following a playoff or divisional clinch.

It still wont matter (nor the field goal) UNI will do too much running...we are going to have several 7 and 8 minute dry spells in the game that will put it under

I guess you cry babies want to take gamble out of the word gambleing.........sorry...can't do it. There is some risk, and to blame someone else for your decision is just plain imature.
