Play of the Day: 12-6 (67%)
Regular Plays: 23-13-1 (64%)
Overall Record: 35-19-1 (65%)

Units: +52.00

It has been awhile since I have posted in the NCAAF forum, as I have popped my head in and out for a few random games, and that is about it.  Well I am back now, and I back for one of bigger games of the year!  11-5 record this year in NCAAF Play's of the Day, and that is where this game is going to fall under, even though it is my Game of the Year in college football.  I am just going to make this game worth more units instead of making another area to track my record on.  I will be here in the forum for a few hours to answer your questions, and I have a feeling to answer or respond to some of the people that are going to be on the other side of this game.  I am then going to take off for a few hours, but will be back in time to answer any more questions before the game kicks off...enough of that, let's get into what really matters!

The Virginia Tech Hokies come into tonight's game against East Carolina at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium with two consecutive losses against Georgia Tech on the road, and North Carolina just last week in Lane.  It wasn't that long ago that Virginia Tech was ranked #4 in the country and was still in the National Championship picture.  In fact it was October 10th that the Hokies just dismantled Boston College and were winners of 5 straight games before losing their past two like I jus mentioned.  It seems like a number of people have gone ahead to write-off this Hokie squad...well I am not going to be one of those people.  If you remember back to last year at this point, the Hokies record was identical to this year's, 5-3.  They ended up winning 5 of their last 6 games and finished the year 10-4.  This squad has been here before, and that should enough motivation to carry them through tonight's game.  If it's not enough for you to pull the trigger on Tech, then consider that the Hokies have a lot of revenge on their minds from their opening season loss to this East Carolina team.  Keep in mind how that game ended last year as well....Beamer-Ball was stuck right into his own face as ECU blocked a punt with 1:52 left in the game and ECU took it to the house for a touchdown and the stunning win as the Hokies were 9 point favorites.  I can tell you right now that Virginia Tech just got done playing the best defense they will see all year after playing North Carolina last Thursday.  But let's consider that the Hokies were holding a 3 point lead in the 4th quarter, with the ball, before Freshman RB Ryan Williams fumbled the ball, which ended up to be a huge play in that game.  Keep in mind that the Hokies are not the only team to have lost to the Tar Heels this year.  It was early in the year, but ECU fell by 14 points in that game against the Tar Heels.

Hey, I am denying that ECU and Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium is going to be rocking, because there is a lot of excitement around this program, because of what Skip Holtz has done.  Hats go off to this guy, but tonight they are running into a Tech team that is not going to cash in the towel and quit this year...in fact I think they are going to be more hungry then ever before.  No doubt about it, it's going to be a huge test tonight fot the Hokies, but in order to find out how they are going to respond and what type of attitutde they are going to bring to the field you have to look to their leader, their coach, Frank Beamer.  This guy has done it before, and has done it for years, a lot of times not very pretty, but he does it.  This guy has no quit, and will find a way to get it done tonight.  In fact I think that the Hokies come out and make a statement here to help save their season and continue to fight on for a slim chance at winning the ACC title yet.

Some other important facets to this game include the revenge angle I already mentioned, but also remember that Coach Frank Beamer is 7-1 ATS in his last 8 games when playing a team for revenge.  Yes, the ECU Pirates are 20-7 ATS as a dog, and yes they are playing at home tonight as huge dogs, but I can tell you right now that if you think that looks enticing, that's exactly what they are doing to you here.  This spread is not baiting in Hokies bettors unless you are sharp, and that's what we are going to be tonight.  Hey, I am not going lie, but going out of conference in the middle of the season after suffering back-to-back conference losses is usually looked at as a recipe for disaster, but here is what I think.  This is the first time the Hokies have played a true road game against a non-BCS opponent since 2002.  That’s a span of 33 straight road games against BCS opponents.  Tonight they get to go on the road for the first time and play a non-BCS opponent, an opponent that they also have revenge against...I think this is exactly what the doctor ordered.  Throw in the fact that under coach Frank Beamer, Virginia Tech is 14-2 ATS when coming off a loss and playing against an opponent it lost to in the previous matchup.

Virginia Tech Hokies -12.5 (8 Units, POD)

Eastern Michigan +21 (4 Units)

Temple -17 (4 Units)

No worries...the write-ups are only for some...some just scroll to the bottom and just want to see the pick...the others read it...really depends...I just like to provide a write-up so everyone knows a little where I am coming from...but they are really subjective

I know this doesn't mean shit, but you take a guy like Bibindi. He's a die hard VT GUY.  But even he has thrown the towel in on VT.

Should be a great game, I think VT wins, but does not cover.  Thanks for your great write-ups. I really enjoy reading them, and gives me great information to make a more intelligent choice.

Just don't understand how any true VT fan can throw in the towel on this team....like I mentioned before, this was their same record last year at this time....then ended up winning 10 games!!!

Anyone that claims to be a VT die hard and has thrown in the towel on this team is more of a bandwagon jumper...on when they are good, off when they struggle....

May I ask this question....if you are a die-hard VT fan, were you writing this team off last year when they were 5-3?  Come on man...they are favored by nearly 14 points on the road tonight

How much you wager on a game....

For example:  If you bet $100 a unit, then you would bet $800 on VT.

Hope that helps

Dumbest fucking comment ever. "A VT fan threw in the towel it must be over". Hhahaha, what a fucking idiot you are. I'd beat the absolute fuck out your ass if you said that shit in the bar tonight.
