#7 Posted: 11/3/2009 11:37:44 AM VT really needs this game to salvage their season... ECU will be playing with a lot of confidence after last years win and now they have them at home with national TV audience.... hope you are right on that |

I think OU is going to have A LOT of trouble with their "offense" this game. |

#13 Posted: 11/3/2009 12:08:52 PM No doubt Huskers D is a very solid unit.... they should get plenty of playing time saturday too. I can see a lot of 3 and outs for that anemic offense. While I expect NEB to leave it all on the field; losing three in a row at home is not what the Big Red fans come to see; I just don't think they have the athletes to stay with sooners and at less than a TD leaning other way... GL though |

Where is Nebraska's offense going to come from? I will give you Oklahoma being overrates - I have been saying that for weeks now. You are betting a struggling offense that is averaging 16 points a game vs the Big 12 (their best offensive output was handed to them by bad Mizzou turnovers LATE in a game after being shutout for three quarters) starting a true freshman in just his second start against a defense that allowed more than 21 points for the first time all season. I just dont see how Nebraska keeps this within 3 scores. |

4-- far from correct. Landry Jones is 100x better than Zac Lee or Cody Green.
5-- OU played a tough game against Texas after they played Miami in a tough spot without their stud QB.
7-- Yeah, Stoops owns Pelini in every place except a BCS bowl
...very curious how you think any of this, but I know we've disagreed from time to time. Seems like your trying to find reasons to support a Nebraska play when really it's just based on where the game is being played

Agree. I think Neb defense will dominate this game. I'll take the td in a low scoring slug fest |

I think this is a great spot for VT. ECU is going to be a substantial public dog and we all know how those usually work out.
VT has SERIOUS revenge on their mind after the beating ECU gave them last year. Add on to the fact that they have dropped two stright...this is the perfect storm for a supreme performance from the Hokies.
Beamer gets NO credit for being one of the best coaches in the country. Agree or disagree he has this VT team in serious contention almost every year...and does so with little talent (compared to his competitors). Outside of Taylor when was the last time VT got a superstar recruit? When was the last time they finished with a top 5 recruiting class? Frank Beamer is one of the best coaches in the country...and I think he will have his guys ready to play.
Look for VT to open up the offense considering they are now playing with nothing to lose. VT has traditionally finished strong and I look for more of the same. Everyone will look at VT's last two performances, then look at ECU's last two performances and see the 12+ points as a home dog on Thursday a gift.
Not so fast...VT by 3 TD's...

I REALLY hope you don't think the only reason I'm taking Nebraska is because of the game being played in Lincoln.
As I said everyone claims the reason they are backing Oklahoma is a fade of Nebraska.
The biggest reason I am on Nebraska is it's a simple fade of a vastly overrated Oklahoma team. Landry Jones is going to have a rough go of it against this VERY talented Nebraska defense.
Has Nebraska had 2 bad games...yes...does that make them an awful team? |

You sure about that? You think either one of those guys couldn't succeed if they were playing for Oklahoma? I think you would see very similar...if not better play than Mr. Jones has been displaying.

#23 Posted: 11/3/2009 2:24:47 PM You know thats a good point JT.... Why doesn't Beamer get more quality recruits and why not more national recruiting successes??? He is a great coach; fantastic reputation, always in championship conversation every year. |

IMO this is one of the biggest mysteries in all of college football...maybe it's that weird thing on the side of his face. |
