I was leaning Pit, and decided to take a closer look at some things, not sure what side I'll end up playing.
Here are a couple things I noticed looking closer at the matchup:

Game is being played @ Rutgers.
Rutgers looks awful
Looks like the makings of a Pit blowout with Lewis, Stull, and Baldwin
yada yada yada.
Weather Is Expected to be rainy and cold.
Pitt has owned this matchup L4 years.
Pitt has an big advantage in the passing game.
I'm going to toss up a few things for this game. I may not be correct, but these are some thoughts.
With the weather being rainy, it should cause problems for the passing games of both teams.
Advantage: Rutgers.
This directly impacts Pitt, who has a big advantage in that area over Rutgers. In the event that Pitt's passing game is affected by the weather, it will subsequently force them to run the ball more, which favors Rutgers. Rutgers is ranked 7th allowing 65.2 yds this year. Rutgers offense is interesting. Quite balance in terms of passing and rushing yardage, but they have always been known as a better running team...Just look at the qb passing stats... looks awful.
I think this is a huge, HUGE factor in this game.
If you look at the Matchup Edge on Cover's matchup page:
RUTG has an advantage in yds allowed, punting, and fumbles.
In a game where two teams are running in the rain, I think these categories are by far the most important.
RUTG benefits from field position when first downs may be scarce. Turnovers, well we all know how that can change a game.
Personally, I do not by any means think RUTG is the better team in this game, BUT the situation and setup for this game might favor RUTG a bit more than you/anyone might think. JUST A THOUGHT! im not saying rutgers wins, just that they do have a chance to cover...especially in a low scoring game, which might be determined by 3 or 4 pts, especially with the line now at 5-6 in most places.
If you get a chance, take a look at the recap of the Nov 17, 2007 game. Looking at stats, you I really can't see how RUTG won that game, but they did.
