Didn't do SEC leans last week because I was on vacation. I should probably start playing them instead... they've been hitting at a much better pace than my "real" picks.
This week's SEC games:
- Georgia -7.5 @ Vanderbilt - Dude, you think I have an effing clue about this Georgia team? They're more schizophrenic than John Nash, or Linda Blair, or Gollum, or... well, shit, let's just say they might or might not win against a team that just lost to Army. If I'm leaning, though, I'm taking the Dawgs.
- Mississippi St. @ Middle Tennessee St. +4 - Holy crap... Mississippi State is a road favorite. You know what that means... MTSU +4. The best team the Blue Raiders have beaten thus far is Maryland, and that was on the road. I don't know that Miss. St. is that much better than Maryland.
- South Carolina +17 @ Alabama - In the past, the week after Alabama has had a banner win last week against a tough opponent they underperform and get an ugly win at home against an inferior opponent. Big win last week against tough opponent? check. Playing an inferior opponent this week at home? check. Nobody giving the ol' ball coach a chance to keep it respectable? check.
- UAB @ Ole Miss -22 - Make no mistake. UAB is bad... really bad. But 22 points for a Mississippi team that will be suffering a hangover after a loss to Bama that was much uglier than it looked? I'm grumbling, but I'll still lean to Ole Miss.
- Kentucky +13.5 @ Auburn - Kentucky is like Switzerland in soccer... they're really a pretty good team, but with the league that they're in, there's just no way they're going to progress any further than where they are already. I give 'em a puncher's chance at Auburn, though... plus I like double-digit SEC dogs.
- Arkansas +24 @ Florida - Arkansas is a one-dimensional team... and even though that one dimension is as talented as Ryan Mallett is, Florida's defense will chew them up and spit them out. The question will be whether or not Florida will be able to run up the score enough to cover the 3 TD and a FG line. Again, give me the double-digit SEC dog.
None of these are plays yet... just leans. Plays coming up later.
