I have been patiently awaiting this day for weeks and weeks. Today is the second opening day of 2008. I am more excited than Jose Canseco locked inside a Balco Lab and definitely more excited than Paul Pierce in a wheelchair store.
As most of you know, interleague was utterly cruel for me. I still, to this day, have not been able to pinpoint what it is about these games that kills me, but I do know my moneyline plays are absolutely unplayable during this period. Totals actually proved moderately profitable throughout but I'm not sure how reliable this is. Looks like I know when I will be taking my vacations in future years.
Anyway, I have absolutely no reason to doubt that everything will return to normal this week. I intend to start it off with a bang today though we all know guaranteeing a winning day will not suit anybody well, including myself. As we move forward, I will highlight some random important things I have learned.

Hey Covers faithful,
I have been patiently awaiting this day for weeks and weeks. Today is the second opening day of 2008. I am more excited than Jose Canseco locked inside a Balco Lab and definitely more excited than Paul Pierce in a wheelchair store.
As most of you know, interleague was utterly cruel for me. Anyway, I have absolutely no reason to doubt that everything will return to normal this week. I intend to start it off with a bang today though we all know guaranteeing a winning day will not suit anybody well, including myself. As we move forward, I will highlight some random important things I have learned.
* To reiterate, interleague plays stick out like a sore thumb in my
log. My winning days literally ended immediately once interleague
started and there is no stretch throughout the rest of the season that
even vaguely resembles the struggles of interleague. This reinforces my
belief that we will be good to go moving forward.
* My totals plays, particularly the unders, are good to go for the rest
of the season. Remember, these plays are selective in that they are
only played when the temp is ~70 or less. I have gone through all my
records and my under plays this season have an ROI of 0.24 units, which
is spectacular. My moneyline plays come out to an ROI of about 0.21, so
go figure: percentage wise, I might actually do better with totals the
rest of the way.
* The 4 unit plays are here to stay. I don't care if any of you
disagree with this strategy. I am significantly up on these plays for
the year and I have already explained my logic in playing these so I
will not waste my time rationalizing this again.
* There will be a lot of plays every day. As you can remember, I can
play up to 12-ish money line plays a day now that I am out of
interleague. I might also play up to 6 under plays a day, though
because of the increasingly warm weather, a more realistic estimate is
0-3. Compensate for this accordingly, guys. If any of you tail,
understand where you are at with your bankroll and what kind of
exposure so many plays will lead to. I am not responsible for anybody's
money management, but I would hate to see any of you blown to bits
during a mini slump.
* Haters -- they will always be there on Covers, and that's fine. I
will just keep doing what I do and I won't change for anyone. That
being said, most of you are great people and I love hearing from you
and having debates/conversations with you.
I look forward to an amazing and inteleectually stimulating second half of the season. Now, let's get some cash!
