#177 Posted: 7/9/2008 5:29:22 AM I'm changing my avatar soon! We're less than 5 games out and Billy girl is once again giving away one of the A's best players for crap. I am starting to believe this guy doesn't want to win a World Series. Its been proven by the Florida Marlins over the past years that you don't have to be in a big market and have million dollar players to win a title. Beane is banking on having a competitive team on the field win the A's move into there new ballpark in the near future. I say win now and worry about the future later, tomorrow is promised to no one. I guess I'm just tired of Oakland being the farm system for the rest of the league.

Arizona won last year because they played in the National League. If they played in the AL West all year there is no chance they would have made the playoffs. They had the best record in the NL last year after beating up on all those pathetic teams and they still wouldnt have made the playoffs with that same record had they been in the AL. Thats where the A's come in. If they were in the NL they would have a shot, but AL teams are just too talented these days making it very difficult for a team like the A's to win. They've already exceeded everyones expectations this year and they are still 5 games out of the division and 3.5 out of the wild card. I was wrong early in they year about how bad I said they would be, but I would still be shocked if they even made the playoffs let alone the world series. |

#180 Posted: 7/12/2008 12:58:37 AM AJ good to hear from you and props to your White Sox for having a great year so far! Looks like I've been right definitely about the pitching..this team is quite deep in pitching...what's even more amazing is the fact that frontliners such as Chavez(always hurt), Crosby was having a great year and Big Hurt Thomas are on the shelf and after defeating the Halos tonight are 4 back of the AL West lead. Gallagher had their number tonight for 7 innings...9 k's and the new Big Red Murton even had a clutch 2 run rbi and several nice defensive grabs! Chillery don't change your avatar this team believes we can compete and they have great team chemistry! I think the rest of the way the Green and gold will do quite well at home vs anyone. The key will be to contine to at least break even on the road and better yet defeat division rivals in each series! Keep the faith Green and Gold nation and for you Covers folks please grab the A's while you can especially as dogs!!!! |

#182 Posted: 7/12/2008 1:07:26 AM Hey Jazzman from Utah I appreciate your response even though it was to bash my thread. I rather bashed then someoen being indifferent to me. Whose your MLB team? I'm just a passionate fan who sometimes wagers on games and I feel if people pay attention and watch they'll see great value wagering on the green and gold! Anyway I'm excited about this young club and still believe we are onto something really special! |

#183 Posted: 7/12/2008 1:32:57 AM Every move billy beane has made in the last 4 years has baffled me to start with then proved to be good for the team very soon after, hopefully this trade will pay off soon also. seems like he is loading up with toung talent for when they move to fremont. i hope at that point they can actually pay their players instead of trading them away or letting them go through free agency. Let's go Oakland!!!!!! |

"Whose your MLB team?"

there is a huge difference between being a passionate fan and just a downright idiotic one... if you are so sure about "the green and gold" winning the series then please feel free to place a substantial futures wager and then feel free to send us all a digital picture of it...
until then, please keep your wet dreams to yourself and quit taking up thread space with these delusional thoughts... thank you and best wishes

#189 Posted: 7/21/2008 8:38:50 AM They had their run. Now they are just back to playing like everybody but you knew they would. At least you got to enjoy a somewhat exciting 1st half from this AAA team. Now its back to developing players in the 2nd half so Beane can trade them away next year for more players he can develop and then trade away again. |

#195 Posted: 7/30/2008 7:04:27 PM 13.5 games out of 1st and 7.5 out of the wild card with 6 teams to pass. They have fallen to 3rd place in their division and just got swept at home by the Royals. I think you can throw in the towel now gustogoat. |

#199 Posted: 7/30/2008 8:32:21 PM P.S. Oakland completed the third leg of getting swept today. In a game, which the home plate ump (Eddy Montague), basically tried to hand to them.
I really hope you posted this thread, because you are attention-starved, and have not real intention of wasting your money on a broken ball-club. Cheers.

I'de like to once again, personally thank George Bush for sneaking in this legislation that puts Joey Butufuco, the local bookie, back in business....get ur money while u can....what a bunch of shizit, yet I can buy lotto tickets, powerball, bet the dogs and goto the local Semonhole tribe casino....scrizew u, Bush!
ATTENTION: FEDS BAG BODOG
The U.S. government recently seized $24 million from bank accounts linked to Bodog, the giant, illegal-under-U.S.-law Internet gaming operation founded by Canadian tycoon Calvin Ayre.
Federal filings make very clear that a serious criminal investigation of the Bodog enterprise is ongoing. At a minimum, word of the seizures is likely to rattle the confidence of U.S.-based online gamblers that they will receive their winnings, not only from Bodog but from the industry's other remaining participants.
