And just like that, In less than 5 minutes the orioles bullpen manages to destroy gausman's 7 innnings of hard work. Givens needs to be given a private pile beat down

Today I watched my friend Kevin mow down the Tigers for 7 innings. I wish I could be a starter sometimes, my friends in the bullpen bring me down(I wonder what the guys in the dugout are like)
Today we ate chicken, chewed sunflower seeds and made baseball yo yo's with batters tape. Zach's yo yo was the longest, and he kept swinging it at all of us and mocking our yo yo's.
We thought the game was just about over, as Kevin was taking care of business. Being a Friday night, we began to peruse tinder and snap chated our yo yo's. The chicken we ate earlier in the 3rd inning was starting to upset my stomach...that's when the phone rang.
They told me to warm up. I was completely unprepared to pitch. It's just not fair sometimes! People don't understand me.
I started some soft tosses when all of a sudden the bullpen coach told me that I've reached my warm up pitch count.
This is bullsh*t I told him...as I almost jogged out on the field(I could hear my tinder notifications popping off on my phone as I left the bullpen) My loser relief pitcher freinds were laughing at me as they were glad that they weren't picked to pitch.
After one inning I was pulled, I think the other team scored a few runs, but I was just glad that I could go to the bathroom. Next time I think I'll stay away from the spicey chicken, it kinda burned.

Please don't pick me, please don't pick me, please don't pick me. I wonder how much an uber would cost from Anaheim to Oakland?
Damn it, we might use everyone tonight. All the guys are really nervous and quiet tonight here in the bullpen. I know that we have a 4 run lead but I feel like puking. This is how those soldiers must of felt in the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan before the boat landed on the beach.

I don't think Trav deserved to get a win anyway. I'm pretty sure he ate the last snack pack and everybody knows those are my favorite. He would know this if he wasn't the new guy. I don't even know why we got him. He's not even that good. I can't believe that even he's taller than me. Why does everybody have to be taller than me? Anyway...I may have given up 6 runs while only recording 1 out but that 1 out was a strike out. Extrapolate that over 9 innings, that's like... 27 K's!! Yeah! I'm the real ace of this staff.

Well ,after 2nd post i know that this will be my favorite thread to stop by
Keep it up boys, i just feel sad that we don't have Heath Bell still in the league to be part of this. Someone should do his entry , he is after all Yoda of bullpen diaries.

I'm sure there will be plenty of bullpen diary entries today. Can't wait to see what Saturday has in store

Nothing made me laugh more than Heath Bell running full speed out of the bullpen and sliding to the mound

Can we get John Rocker to be a lead beat writer for this thread? I don't think he has too much going on these days and he still seems pretty angry. I would love to hear his POV on the recent bullpens of '17

Why the hell is the skipper calling my number? Doesn't he know I pitched yesterday? I don't feel like doing this right now. Besides, if this one goes into extras my buddy's here in the bullpen will get worn out for the next series.
And the last thing I want to do is miss our flight to Minny and be stuck at the airport.

Taillon is way too young and has gotten way too much credit for a pitcher at such a young age. The spotlight has been on him far too long since he beat cancer and the bullpen has been ignored.
I remember something my english bulldog, Beethoven, did to get my attention when I ignored him. I left three loaves of pumpernickel bread on my counter and went outside to get the mail. By the time I came back, Beethoven ate two and a half loaves of my beloved pumpernickel bread, leaving me just a half a loaf! To top it off, he puked it up all over the floor to make me clean it up. I'm going to take a page out of Beethoven's books.
Let's load these bad boys and make it interesting. I will semi sabotage our game, leaving the score 4-4 going into extra innings. Just as Beethoven left a little for me to snack on, I will leave a little more for the Buck's fans to chew. Then they will have to rely on the bullpen to save the day
VIVA LA VENEZUELA! OUR VOICES WILL BE HEARD!

Today we are playing at home against the Padres, my old club. It's always good to catch up with old friends, even though I feel sorry for them. I mean, they are one of the worst teams in baseball and really struggle to score runs.
Anyways, we are leading going into the 9th inning, and when you've been around the bigs since 2000 like I have, a 2 run lead should be safe when the manager gives you the nod. I mean, it's only 3 outs and I'm on a 7.5 million dollar contract - ha! I'm 40 years old!
There's one slight problem though, as we only lead 4-2. I hate it when the guys in the pen are always on their phones scrolling through covers and looking at the odds and lines. It's not very professional and I always have liked the idea of making some extra cash as I near retirement and fade away into the annals of history. I figure we will win this game, I mean, we closed around -185 favs! But the total was set at 8.5 and I really liked the over because Clayton Richard is not that great. I figure alls I gotta do is give up a pair to tie it at 4s, then it will go to extras and we'll probably win it and then the moneyline punters and overs bettors (me) will be happy. You just can't buy my experience.
Think I might have a day off tomorrow. Might do some online banking to withdraw those funds I just picked up on the over.
Life is good!
Cheers,
JB
NB: I am in no way insinuating that he has had a bet on this game despite only converting 53 of 91 career save opportunities. This was purely intended in a light-hearted sense.
