Edges - Padres: the visiting team is 4-0 in Tyson Ross’ career team starts in this series, and Ross is 7-2 in his MLB career team starts during the month of July. Pirates: Francisco Liriano 3-0 last three team starts in this series, and 6-12 last eighteen overall home team starts.
With Pittsburgh just 3-16 last nineteen home games in this series, we recommend a 1* play on San Diego.Edges - Padres: the visiting team is 4-0 in Tyson Ross’ career team starts in this series, and Ross is 7-2 in his MLB career team starts during the month of July. The Tigers were not intimidated by this apparent pitcher's park, knocking four home runs out of Safeco last night.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The Mariners hand the ball to Taijuan Walker (7-6, 4.34 ERA) who's looking for a sixth consecutive "W", surrendering one run or less in all but one of his last five starts. This will be his first career meeting with the Tigers, and I expect Detroit's hot bats to hit him hard. The Tigers will counter with Kyle Ryan (1-2, 4.55 ERA) who'll make his sixth start in the major leagues. He's 0-2 with a 4.71 ERA in four starts for the year.
2. The Tigers Bats - Detroit has scored a total of 44 runs over its last seven games with a .342 team batting average. J.D. Martinez has 11 homers in his last 13 games and was 3-for-5 with a home-run in last night's contest.
3. X-Factor - Detroit has seen the total go over in 10 straight on the road, and 22 of it's last 26 overall.

Chicago is showing some great value here at basically a pick'em at home against the Blue Jays. The White Sox opened the series with a 4-2 win last night and are now 4-1 in their last 5 overall. Toronto on the other hand has dropped 4 of their last 5.
I really like the starting pitching matchup in this one. Chicago's Jose Quintana has quietly got back on track after a slow start and now has a respectable 3.81 ERA on the season. He's been solid all season with a 3.52 ERA in 7 home stars, but it's his 2.84 ERA and 1.263 WHIP over his last 3 and 1.59 ERA in his last 5 against the Blue Jays that really stands out.
While the White Sox send out a red-hot Quintana against a team he's dominant in the past, the Blue Jays are being forced to call-up Felix Doubront to make his first start of the season. Doubront had a 5.54 ERA and 1.56 WHIP over 21 appearances (14 starts) in 2014 and owns a career 4.78 ERA and 1.47 WHIP. I'll take my chances he struggles here.
Toronto is just 15-34 in their last 49 road games when they come in having lost 4 or 5 of their last 6 games and 6-17 in their last 23 against an AL starter with an ERA of 4.00 or better. Blue Jays are also 0-4 in their last 4 versus a left-handed starter and 0-6 in their last 6 during game 2 of a series. The White Sox are 6-1 in Quintana's last 7 starts against an opponent that scored 2 or less last time out and 5-1 in their last 6 home games against a team with a winning record.Chicago is showing some great value here at basically a pick'em at home against the Blue Jays.
