1-1 yesterday on posted plays. Lester went 4 innings and kris bryant had the flu for the 20th time this year. here are a few plays i like tonight:
Orioles -105: Love the O's in this spot. First home game after an 8 game road trip, bats are hot, and Chen is about as undervalued as it gets as a starter. This game is all about perception vs reality. Kluber is not pitching like a Cy Young winner this year. He's 8-15 in quality starts and pitching to a 4 era on the road. Chen has held the Indians in check in his career and has 2 solid starts in june.
Marlins +113: by the time the second inning rolls around, this game will represent the most innings brett anderson has pitched since 2010.
2014: 43 innings
2013: 44 innings
2012: 35 innings
2011: 83 innings
It's officially time to start fading brett anderson on a regular basis. A similar innings threshold was reached by michael pineda in his last start against the phillies. how did that work out for him? there's a very good chance the wheels are going to fall off brett anderson in the very near future. not to mention, marlins +LHP=
Phillies +190: value play of the day here. Phillies bats are red hot. wait, phillies bats are red hot???? maikel franco is hitting a ridiculous .520 in his last 6 games. here's why i really like the phillies, max scherzer is pitching. i think you're crazy to ever lay -200+ on the road, and max is coming off of a near no hitter and a no hitter. wait, isn't that really good? sure it's awesome, but what that means is 18 HIGH LEVERAGE/HIGH STRESS INNINGS! instead of breezing through 7 innings, he was giving maximum effort on every pitch for 18 innings in 2 starts. not to mention anthony rendon was placed on the DL today and bryce harper may not play. get the line now before it drops! i also love the under here. i expect harang to really get up for this start opposing scherzer and pitch very well.

adding Twins +111. kyle lohse is 0-5 in his last 6 starts with a 7.59 era. in 2 starts vs the twins, lohse sports a 9.28 era while giving up 5 home runs in 10 2/3 IP. kyle lohse is the definition of a GAS CAN. on the flip side, trevor may is pitching the best ball of his life right now. 1.88 era in his last 4 starts, with 24 k's in 24 innings.

you know what, you might have just convinced me to turn my $0 wager on Marlins into a small ML play lol. only thing hold me back is i don't trust the Marlins especially with their current losing streak but they got to end it at some point..
Dodgers are 2-7 after winning in a shutout, 5-8 against lefties, 5-8 when they are favored as -100 to -125, 5-9 on the road when total is 7 or less
Marlins are 5-5 as home dogs of +100 to +125, 8-8 against lefties, 17-20 at home(which is not too bad for a losing team), 2-8 at home when total is 7 or less, 8-8 after 3 consecutive losses.

i really hate their bullpen. i have a hard time backing teams with trash bullpens but i really like the marlins in this spot. the dodgers have one of the worst road records for a good team. i don't like the dodger bullpen one bit and i'm not very confident in mattingly's in game decision making. also worth noting, kershaw and grienke coming in the next two games. the marlins know they need this game or it's probably a sweep and a 6 game home losing streak.

crazy to think as bad as Phillies have been this year and last they are 2-1 against the Nationals at home this year and 14-8 at home for the last 3 seasons, 6-3 last year and 6-4 the year before..
would you recommend a reverse runline of Phillies at +400? i'm really thinking about it

i dont know if i'd go that far. i think it's a 3-2 kind of game. i do like them even more now with sandberg stepping down. i think that's going to be a weight lifted off of the team. i love the game after coach fired type scenario, and lets be honest, he was going to be fired. he quit before they could can him.

if Aaron Haraang somehow wins this, his past wins have usually resulted in at least a 2 score win so if that is the case then i'll take a chance at the -1.5, let's get this one Mabs!!!

they split 1-1 against Haarang both Nat's home games.
Haraang last season 2-2 against the Nats while playing for the Braves. i think Bryce was the most consistent hitter against Haraang 10-22 and 1 home run. i'm liking Haraang's chances against the Nats, he pitched decent, just needs the run support.
