AJP is signed to a 1 year deal for $2 million with $700k in incentives and he'll be the backup to Bethancourt so I guess they are going into next season with Gattis as an outfielder unless they trade him.
As for Grilli...he gets a 2 year, $8 million contract. I really like this move and I like what the Braves have done with their bullpen after trading Walden. Grilli may be 38 but $4 million a season for him is a steal, imo. He started off rough last season but had a 3.48 ERA over 33.2 innings after he was traded to the Angels. And I don't even have to tell you how good he was for the Pirates over his 3 full seasons there. He's not dominant but he'll be a nice setup man for Kimbrel.
They have so many strong/young arms in the pen with Kimbrel, Carpenter and Simmons and then they have a good lefty in Russell and they also signed Jim Johnson who pitched well when he was pitching middle relief with no pressure on him in Oakland. It was when they made him a closer that he had bad outings and he won't have pressure in Atlanta.
So, again, the Braves will go into next season with solid pitching...but will they have to score runs. Everyone counting the Braves out should remember that their offense can't get worse than it was last year...can it? I think their bullpen is actually stronger now. I love Teheran/Miller/Wood and teams would love to have Minor as a #4 and I loved what I saw from Hale in his short time in the rotation last year. Not to mention the Braves seem to strike lightning in a bottle every time they get a bum like Harang or Floyd so they know what they're doing.
This team won't be as bad as people think. I'm not saying they'll be a playoff team but people are talking as if they're just giving up on this season and they will be over .500 at the least, imo, and if they get some production from their offense, then they'll be fighting next season.

Well John Hart is signing guys he had a hard-on for when he was at MLB Network that's all this is. The Braves offense sucked with boppers so it'll suck this year differently
Braves making a lot of moves sparky. 3 more they should make. Fire Chip Caray,Fire their sideline reporter and hire me as play by play man
