Dodgers, FG, -110 (Ryu / Lackey) $210 to win $190.91
According
to my numbers, which everyone seems to doubt and choose to bash, the better
starting pitcher is 8-2-2 so far in head to head competition with his
counterpart, so if you start with the better starter you should have about 82%
of your work done right there and can usually eliminate one side or the other
from consideration. Of course there will always be those that play steam, or
trends, or momentum, or some angle believed to be true that usually isn’t.
Ryu (rating
71.7, 65% quality starts) versus Lackey (rating 65.9, 55% quality starts). Lackey
was not a darn bit better after joining the Cardinals than he was with Boston, even though he no
longer had to face a DH. In fact, if I grade them both from the time Lackey
joined the Cardinals I get 71.3 versus 64.0, indicating a decline versus lesser
competition for Lackey.
Cardinals
offense, down the stretch, where it really matters, since everything before the
all star break is irrelevant, versus lefty: 9 of 15 quality outings producing
3.9 earned offensive runs per 9. Then they clobbered Kershaw, which is a whole
different subject, but overall they came down the stretch very nicely.
Dodgers
offense, down the stretch, versus righty: 12 of 15 quality performances at a
staggering 7.4 earned runs per 9, then they clocked Waino (I called it) for 6
earned runs on 11 hits in just 4.1 innings (12.46 o.e.r.a.).
Cardinals offense
could put up a fight here, but Lackey versus the Dodgers offense is sending a
lamb to the slaughter. If Matheny calls upon another righty to replace Lackey,
the same numbers apply

About time you showed up. Are you back in pain or working like a devil to get out of the hole? BOL either way. Might be headed your way in the late fall. If so you can dispose of my tab at the end of the evening and I will leave a very nice tip!

Terrible at bats for the dodgers today in key situations. Shame on them for making lackey look so good. Gonz and Kemp stunk it up, last two I expected to against Lackey.....what are you thoughts for tom Key...?

Carp ~ never engage in a battle of wits with a man that is only half armed.
Well said. I see him in everyone's threads trying to piss people off then someone went off on him and he ran to the help section and rattled on him like some little boy. Just so pathetic but you're right, why waste the time dealing with some lifeless moron
