So far this season Michael Pineda has been great for the limited amout of time he has seen the field. 5 of his last 6 games since returning from injury, Pineda has gone at least 5 innings giving up no more than 2 earned runs, seemingly getting stronger in each start. However, his last start he faced the Rays and gave up 10 hits and 4 earned runs. Most of the hits were singles back up the middle but he was able to work out of jams all night (aside from the missed pop up by Teixeira, walk, and home run).
Odorizzi has been two different pitchers at home and on the road. His last start out, like Pineda, he faced the same team he'll be going up against tonight. Odorizzi yielded 6 runs on 5 hits all earned, in his third start of the season versus the Yankees.
The interesting part of this matchup is the fact that the two pitchers will be facing the same team as in their prior starts. This is one of my favorite plays to make on the over. The batters are much more adaptive to the pitchers tendancies, and the pitchers are less able to change their approach in such short tunraround.
Since the Yankees are starting to realize that a playoff appearance is slipping away (listen to Brett Gardener's post game interview) they may be distracted by what the offseason will bring. Tampa Bay would like nothing more than to knock the Yankees out of the playoffs. Both teams should be able to score enough to hit the small total of 6.5. Tampa should score at least 5 of their own runs, and the Yankees should score at least 3.

Knock them out of the playoffs--. They were eliminated last night
they can't win the AL EAST.... they can still make wildcard.... 6 games out with 13 to play tho, is basically done.... but they were only mathmatically eliminated from divison not wildcard
