unless you're right handed.
Seriously, it's all about the vision. The amount of time you are able to see the ball from the time it leaves the pitcher's hand until it crosses home plate. Batters tend to have a split second longer to see a ball coming from a pitcher who throws from the opposite side of their stance. Physics and stuff.
