#1 Posted: 10/25/2012 5:40:32 PM Before the series started, I was going to take Giants game 1 with Zito on the mound and then take Fister in Game 2, but after watching the Giants dog walk to Tigers I have a feeling they will be able to put enough runs on the board to seal the victory tonight. The thing about the Giants is their hitters have been taught to fight through at bats and stay patient when they are behind. They also do not chase pitches out of the zone when there are runners on base. Not only do their 1-8 hitters get on base, their pitchers can hit too. Their defense is far better than the Detroit Tigers and that will play a factor the entire series especially in AT&T. Its so loud that it is much easier for a player on defense to get confused, I've seen it so many times in this ballpark in key moments. I do think Fister is respectable, but at the at the same time, how long will he last before the Tigers horrible bulpen gets released onto the field. Giants will get his pitch count up fast, which leads me to believe that he wont last longer than 6 innings even on a good night. That will be a problem for the Tigers because they are struggling to put up runs. I have absolutely no faith in anyone in their bulpen and I dont think they will be able to handle the heat when they do come in. Bumgarner has pitched terrible in his last two post season starts, but he is still a very good pitcher. He will be able to redeem himself infront of the home crowd tonight. In his lone start against the Tigers in 2011 he struck out nine and gave up one run over 7 1/3 innings. He also pitched a gem, going 8 strong last year in the World Series, so he knows how to perform when the pressure is on. Fister on the other hand has never been in this situation and the only thing going in his favor is that the Giants have never seen him and he has pitched Scutaro well in the past. But if he wants to throw strikes to Marco, he will be punished badly. Giants line up is dangerous and they want to win this game just as bad as the Tigers do. They do not want to go to Detroit tied at 1 the way the Tigers have played at home. It will be a much closer game then last night and I believe the score will be around 4-2 Giants.

#9 Posted: 10/25/2012 5:55:23 PM Only one batter that seems to chase is Pense. I seriously think he's one lucky sob to be on the giants. Wish giants got Victorino instead of Pense. |

#12 Posted: 10/25/2012 5:58:24 PM Pence was a .300+ Average hitter his entire career with the Astros, I dont know what happened recently. He chases pitches way out of the zone, cant put the ball in play, and he cant hit a fastball so thats all they throw at him. If he wakes up, it would be a huge lift for this ball club. On the other hand, he is great to have in the dugout and he gets everyone pumped up before and during games.

#16 Posted: 10/25/2012 6:27:59 PM From what I saw last night, Pence was chasing breaking balls. I didn't see them throw fast balls to him. |

Yes victorino way better but I'd rather see the giants spend the money ant get Jason werth he's way better than both of them but he was way too costly. Hope GIANTS get it today bring another win for the bay |

#19 Posted: 10/25/2012 6:47:55 PM h pence is worthless, has been last two weeks, agree on that.
Fister mixes his pitches up, hes a tricky s.o.b. where Verlander throws more heat than anything else.
I think Giants will have more trouble tonight, even tho Fister is nobody compared to Verlander, its all about confidence. Fister has been hot, Verlander is the man but OVER confident.
just my humble opinion
love the picks east |

Yes I think the game goes under.
To Austinnova: Verlander is very cocky, did you see his face when the pitching coach came out. He said I darn kate upton and I am the best pitcher alive what are you doing here? |
