Yes, Verlander is on the mound, but that means absolutely nothing to me. This is the World Series, it is completely different than any other game or playoff series. All the domination is out the door because this is the biggest game of Verlanders career. He wants to win this game so bad because he blew it last time he was in the World Series, but that will make things worse. You see how the Giants just dont give a darn, they treat every game like its a regular game and thats why they do so much better. Just like when Cliff Lee came to AT&T he got shelled because he was nervous and the Giants jumped all over it. Although I dont think Verlander will do as bad as Lee, I do think he is going to run into problems early in the game. This Giants team has been here, they are ready as anyone to win another one, and their coach is making all the calls to win games. The Tigers have a good line up but they will be trying to do too much because they think they need to, that will hurt them. The Giants on the other hand will be ready to hit Verlander and I have a feeling Sandoval and Posey are going to have a big series. Scutaro will be on base the whole series and that will be a serious problem for the Tigers. The current Tigers are batting .193 and they are slugging .300 in 88 at bats. Zito is hot as well, but he is calm and he is playing his own game. He has not been scared either times on the brink of elimination. The only time Verlander fought elemination was against the A's and they strike out more than anyone and Verlander is a strike out pitcher. I think Zito at home has the advantage over Verlander on the road vs the Giants simple as that. Giants have the hottest hitter on either team and they have home field advantage where they are solid.

I'm thinking this can be a 2-1 or 3-1 game.  Do you think under is a good play or can Giants have a breakout in an inning again?

Since when is 3-3 at home being solid? Tigers have a better road record 3-2.

Marco will be on the whole series? Not as much as you think in Game 1....he is 5/23 against Verlander with 8 strikeouts.

What is all this garbage "from California" alleging? I moved here from Mass and I see a good discussion from EO. I'm seeking wins to make money and all I see are good explanations for Giants backers and lots of stupid useless comments for Tigers backer(s) in here.  I see some good discussions from Tigers backers but those are in the capper's threads. Come on folks, grow up and provide good insight.

It means this....if someone is from Michigan they're going to make positive comments about the Tigers....California same thing about the Giants. A lot of people from California were all over Oakland to beat the Tigers. You have this guy Joshfactor from New Jersey saying the Yankees were going to lose the series to the Yankees when up 3-0 games. The Tigers fans here have been disrespected in every series and I'm not saying I'm agreeing or disagreeing on what people say. I feel the Tigers win in 5.

For the record, I like Verlander. But Giants bats are hot and Tigers bats came alive only in the last game against the Yankees. I can't get myself to drink the cool aid at -170 when teams are fairly close (in my eyes). Maybe 1 run will win this game?

Jackson, Infante, Cabrera, Fielder, Young, Peralta, Dirks, Laird, Verlander will be the lineup. Tigers just need to get through the first inning tied and they will be fine.

My other thoughts are: if Tigers win this game, it will be low scoring.  If Giants win, I think it will be a slug out and go over 6.5.  I'm thinking about parleying both both sides: Tigers & under and Giants & over.  What does everyone think?

Over when Verlander is throwing if the Giants win WinSeeker? What is Verlander's ERA again this postseason?

if we get a 3-3 score, under is done and I think Giants bullpen will take it.

lol that's a great idea, but can us degens be able to not bet on the ONLY game on the board tomorrow except for NBA preseason games.  I'll probably do some live in-game bet tomorrow.  I think that the long laid off actually hurt the Tigers in this series, hopefully the Giants can work the count in this series and get into the Tigers pen as I think that is the Tigers weakness vs. the Giants strength.

I have to give SF all the credit in the world they don't give up and they seem to thrive on being the underdog and having there backs against the wall.  With that being said today their backs aren't against the wall and they face a pitcher that throws 95-99 all game long.  I can't see SF having much success against Verlander they tend to get into stretches where they can't do nothing on offense.  Yes Detriot isn't exactly hitting the cover off the ball but they don't had to when their pitching staff had an .66 era in the Yankee series.  The Yankee's couldn't touch Verlander so how the hell is SF going too?  I like DET to win 5-1 in a game that will have no drama just a work like effort from a blue collar team from Detriot.

Lol? All Californians like SF? And I'm also assuming we all love the lakers? Nah man SF just looks like the play Det line opened at -140 and has been bet up to 160+ IMO I just like the public fade in this spot. I think verlander gets lit up today giants win by 4+ but he will come out strong in his 2nd start 7+ innings of shut out ball
