A hindrance or help when a team like Detroit advances early?

Not sure how the Tigers come out in game 1. I know what kind of form and momentum the Giants are taking into the World Series.

Maybe Giants-Tigers double (Giants 1st 5 Detroit for the game).

The Tigers are showing nothing after getting runners on in the 1st.  How were they favored in this?  Because Verlander cant pitch so far!
