I just did.  Ouch.

I want to experience just once the feeling of a walk-off.  I live vicariously through thee.

I can honestly say of all the baseball I have bet in the last so and so years, I never won on a walk-off.  I even won the Utah-USC +14 bet, which was technically the covering the spread, football version of a walk-off.

But never the true, magical, tasteful baseball walk-off.  I like Oakland and all, but damn.  That A's walkoff was just...just no.  No way.  Wow.

A's backers.

I feel for ya man...but I got hosed on that Orioles game too. I CAN NOT BELIEVE they took O'Day out of that game...they should have let him pitch the 9th. BOL tomorrow man.

Worthless comments???. Dude, he is 100% right.
You bet on a home team, 100% guarantee you won't lose on a walk off.

Think before you say something stupid.

No gives a darn that you bet the cards. He was just referring to the subject of your thread

Yeah don't put in your closer in a one run game.  that has the most saves in baseball. you make complete sense.

ad,

I had St. Louis so the day should have stopped there for me.  Just had no idea the buzzsaw that lay ahead.  Probably going to lay off until we get to the CS, because this is, historically, the way I go into epic slumps and lose everything I won on the season.

I made a post about this in another thread.

I mean I have never understood this theory not just in the game tonight. You have your best reliever in the game in the 8th inning, he clearly has his stuff, and breezes through the 8th with momentum looking like he could easily close out the 9th.

But no, this never happens instead teams feel like they HAVE to throw their closer out there just because he is the "closer". But no one knows if he has his stuff that night or not. Look at Valverde in that A's game...just a thought.

I mean I understand what you are saying but why take out the dominant reliever when it looks like he could breeze through 2-3 innings.

Glad you had the Cards to save you a bit. Well it looks like you are practicing some serious money management. Gahhhhh when you got back to back to back to back games on, playoff games for that matter it's almost impossible to lay off. I envy your discipline. As for me looking at tomorrow's card....I like SF and Matt Cain at EVEN money in the early game. I know Mat Latos has been a historic Giant killer but I am rolling with the team with the greatest momentum, they are like a boulder rolling down mountatin it seems. It doesn't hurt that their best pitcher is on the mound and possibly Lincecum coming in for an inning or 2 if need be?  IF you do play tomorrow, make a thread...I will stop by

Bottom line is closers come in one run games even if the relief pitcher struck out the bottom 8th looking.  Its just their job.  Those guys are designed to only go 3-6 outs max.  Obviously it always doesn't work but its how the game of baseball is played.  Starters, relief pitchers, 1 closer.  To close out the game.  They save some the blow some.

I had no idea that small market team's like Oakland were only bet on by those geographically inclined.  How crazy is that?  Wow!  I can't believe 5Dimes and Bookmaker both let me bet on them when I was clearly on the east coast when I made the wager.

Well check this out.  Oakland is a stinkhole town (from my experiences).  I toast those that bet the A's (in and out of the city) and getting a nice walk-off win, and you're a bonified idiot.

Cheers ya fuckin' dink

hi TheDrizzle77, i just wanted to let you know that i'm a bonified idiot.  i am not going to put bonified idiot in bold anyways because i really want to let you know that i am indeed a bonified idiot more than just 1 time.  You are so right that oakland is such a stinkhole even though you had that 1 bad experience on telegraph road.  i am very sure that is the only time you ever been to oakland but i want to go ahead and give you a pass by calling your one time experience as a good reason to call oakland a stinkhole.  Maybe you only want to respect all the bettors who bet on oakland tonight who are outside of that stinkhole on telegraph road but you won't end up having to congratulate that many especially since scherzer was pitching tonight.  i'm a real dink thedrizzle77, i know you just called me a dink just to make me feel good but i am a REAL dink.  so how does it feel to toast a bonified idiot like me who's a real dink?  would it make you feel better if i pointed arrows at my name/.  here it is  TheCrow  <=========real bonified idiot of a dink.  Hey buddy lets be friends now, do you know how to add me?

When closers can not close, that is what happens.  Valverde, you gotta be kidding, could not even record an out!  Johnson you darn head, blow game one on Russell M. HR , now give up a tying HR and walk off HR!  garbage happens.  I do not think Orioles come back from this defeat.  Detroit may be because they got Verlander tomorrow.
