#179 Posted: 10/3/2012 8:19:10 PM To McShady, Semper, Angle and all the other contributers:
I just wanted to give you a heartfelt thank you for this baseball season. I learned a lot from all of you and because feel so much better about handicapping/chasing baseball next year. In years past I thought I had a decent idea about what it took to make $$ in the daily grind that is the baseball season. I now realize I didn't and you guys have saved me from many more frustrating evenings. I understand its not failsafe, but thank you for putting me in the right direction with this concept.
With all that said, my friends and I do something similar when it comes to chasing NHL unders over the last two years. We have had success after a few years of tinkering and adding filters. Taking from your lead on sharing for the greater good, I will be starting a thread if and when the NHL season starts up. I'm not sure how a potentially shorten season will impact it so I am going to tread lightly. Figured I'd let you know so I can try and give back.
All the best to you and your families, their health and your various gambling ventures. Thanks again-
Steve |

#183 Posted: 10/4/2012 9:09:38 AM Thx for all the positive feedback guys. I never wanted a thread where I post plays and you follow. It should be a meeting place for people with a common interest and in our case a common style of wagering.
The hardest thing in gambling is to find a starting concept that wins 55-60% of the time. If you find one, dont rip it apart, make it better! IMO no serious gambler would discredit a new concept that can be developed. |

#187 Posted: 10/4/2012 10:42:20 AM Quick look at O's/Rangers & Cards/Braves on Friday....
The big Question is does Buck Stay with his rotation and roll with Steve Johnson, a converted starter and a 5 and fly guy, in an elimination game, or does he go with Joe Saunders the late season acquisition and soft tossing lefty. My money is wtih Saunders but with Buck, you never know. Either way they face the best pitcher in the AL down the stretch. Can Darvish save the Rangers season and is -150 too high a price to pay if the answer is yes?
Medlen has just been out of this world dominating and Lohse has been no slouch either. At first glance this game should be a 2-1, 3-2 type pitchers duel. At 6.5, this is going to be a solid value on the under. If you can find any 7's and I saw one or two, grab them now. The Braves are 12-0 in Medlen starts this year including a comeback win to clinch a playoff spot after Medlen allowed 2 home runs to a punch a judy Marlin hitter. The only issue with the under is that the offense has Backed Medlen with an avg. of 5.5 runs as a starter and they may hit themselves over that 6.5. Medlen has given up 0 or 1 er in 10 out of his 12 starts and his other two strarts 3 runs and 2 runs. I think Lohse has a proven post season track record and will be up to the task of keeping the Braves bats in check enough to cash this under. |

#188 Posted: 10/4/2012 12:16:08 PM Thanks Semper and McShady for all your hard work and dedication to success! It has been a great year! I would have been lost if I hadn't found this thread. Thanks also to all others to numerous to mention (you know who u are) who have contributed and helped keep this thread positive and moving forward!
It has been profitable to bet home team as dog on ESPN Thursday night game, so give me Utah +14.5
The under is 3-0 on NFL Thurs, so give me Ariz/STL under 40.
According to Dallas talk radio, the Rangers have joined the Cowboys with one foot in the grave and headed for a quick burial. Ranger fans took winning the division for granted. Many who I talked to yesterday thought since they had clinched the playoffs everything was okay. They DIDN'T KNOW about the one-game wildcard playoff! I had to break the bad news to them.
Josh Hamilton is getting RIPPED heavily for dropping that pop-up.
Anybody think the Rams bought up to 3 can hang with Ariz? I usually like to fade undefeated teams on the road giving points, but this is a division game.

#190 Posted: 10/4/2012 12:29:31 PM Nice going bigrubber.
If someone were to tease the NFL game, this line is the right kind. If you like STL you can tease +8 and Ariz to +4.
Ariz could win by 7 and STL would still win or, STL could win by 3 and you would be okay with Ariz.
I would tease the under up to 45 1/2.

#192 Posted: 10/4/2012 12:53:57 PM My book has Atlanta at 6.5 o-25, I'm hoping it may get back up to 7.
I think I will take Atlanta -1.5 with Medlen. Any thoughts Semper?
McShady, I will start new playoff thread that u mentioned previously later tonight if you don't.

#195 Posted: 10/4/2012 2:23:23 PM Angle, one of our radio guys, from USC, says he wasn't surprised on how Barkley got manhandled by Stanford. I hope Utah watches the films on that game. I'm tailing you on Utah. |

#196 Posted: 10/4/2012 4:10:38 PM My book got the Cards/Braves O/U @ 7 but hesitant to pull the trigger..arghhhh
I do like the Under as well
This series should be low-scoring overall though, in contrast to the O's/Rangers series. |
