|seems like there is no reason to take seattle, what with their cross country flight, yanks getting ichiro, kuroda been hot, mariners bat .196 at home, what is there to bet on?

my answer is kevin millwood. Most of his starts have been outstanding. He's had a groin issue, got banged up by the royals last week. So not much is expected from him.
the yankees have found themselves in a funk suddenly, facing some solid pitching from the A's staff. If milwood gives us his good stuff, i'm not sure the yanks put up runs. they too had to fly to get to this game, & their BP has cost them close games.
if milwood can keep the game close, the mariners might steal this one on the backend.
mariners have been playing over .500 since the all star break. Shows they are playing better then earlier in the season. They hit the ball well in KC, & got low scoring wins in tampa.
I gotta believe the locker room is mad about ichiro, & will not be "going through the motions" when they play tonight. Yanks backers will rightly retort that the yanks come in with a chip, the 4 game slide. its different energy though, the fire from a losing streak vs losing your best player to the team you gotta play tonight. I gotta put my money behind the jilted players here.
of course, every square in america is piling money on the yanks. The ichiro news makes this a must-bet game for yankee backers. This can be a curse, when you have every moosh, bad luck degenerate siding up with you.
if the yanks were REALLY gonna win this, the line would be higher. Milwood will ball.
gimmee the mariners for a long shot bomb +165 for 5000 spacebucks.
