#1 Posted: 7/9/2012 11:37:53 PM We know Texas and New York are probably gonna easily win their divisions, but I wanna hear some BOLD predictions for the 2nd half of the season
ill start off by making one for each league...
National League
The Washington Nationals will miss the playoffs... (ill probably get roasted for this, but hey it's called a bold prediction for a reason)
American League The Yankees will be the ONLY team from the AL East to make the playoffs

in all seriousness, what the heck happen to them this year? I know they have been battling alot of injuries, but they don't look anywhere close to the same dominant phillies team we have been used to lately in the NL

#13 Posted: 7/9/2012 11:59:13 PM injuries is pretty much all u can say, i honestly believe the injuries that really hurt them r halladay, herndon, contreras, and stutes...the phillies had a winning record when halladay last pitched and had to replace him with kyle kendrick the other 3 pitchers all had huge roles out of the bullpen last season, this year they had to call up pretty much every scrub in the minors to fill them spots..... last but not least utley and howard missing all them games certainly didnt help.....these next 2 weeks will tell the fate of this team, whether they make a move for a playoff push or try to dump some of their expensive players for prospects |

#14 Posted: 7/10/2012 12:00:41 AM 1. Pittsburgh holds on to the division
2. Houston won't break 50 wins
3. Mets collapse, finish last in NL east

I agree with all you said, the next 2 weeks will make or break them. I honestly feel like they are too far back with too many teams to climb, but they have been a 2nd half team. Whether or not they have another run in them this year remains, we will find out very soon. They gotta get HOT and stay HOT for a while. If they do then that NL East is gonna be an epic finish too see

#19 Posted: 7/10/2012 12:18:12 AM also washington has a 93% chance as of right now to make the playoffs so that prediction that they dont make it not going to happen how many first place teams have you ever seen miss the playoffs?

oh for sure they most likely will... the NL just seems wide open to me. Texas and New York are the far superior teams in the AL, I just don't see a clear cut advantage for any team in the NL. Both Pittsburgh and Washington are very young, they could fall off in the 2nd half, then again they could shock everyone... ya never know
