#277 Posted: 5/3/2012 4:19:48 PM So, collegegambler...no hard feelings here or anything but please don't girl on the next bad beat or a blown save. Things like this happen all the time. You have been wagering for a few years so you know this. Be smart with what you did today and don't wager on anything tonight. The smaller amount of plays you make the better. Good luck. |

#279 Posted: 5/3/2012 4:41:00 PM I lose almost every time I try to win back my losses on one game. Its like the gambling gods wont allow it to be that easy. And the only one I remember hitting was 2 years ago Cavs at Kings. Bet my whole account on Cavs moneyline and they needed a 4th quarter comeback just to take it to OT and win. Like I said, never easy. Maybe your luck is better than mine, but I would advise against doing this |

There have been a lot of blowin saves this year....today you were on the right side of one. Just don't do anything stupid tonight. Let's be honest here...you were in great position and should have won the games you previoulsy posted. However, you shouldn't have won today and I'm sure you know that. I would take the rest of the night off and look for another solid play. Just my opinion but take what you deposited and some extra that you know for sure you made some profit. I would try to have a realistic goal for May since the month is still early. However, if it is not looking good then readjust your goal...or make a new one for June. I'm 25 myself...but goals and money practice management help me. |

The point everyone has been making for the last 4 days is to do your research - don't chase your losses - and stick to a game plan. Which based on your responses has had no effect on your approach... |

If I can offer some advice, Angels were a play earlier in the day when they opened up at 125/135 but then they hit the price ceiling and no longer were a play. I would set a price/value on each line rather than just a team and try to incorporate a money strategy. I use a ratio (Kelly) with what each play must be percentage wise and then either maximize or minimize each buy/trade. At this rate you try and beat the market's NVL and optimize your equity in each buy.
At the time you bought the Angels at 150 they were out of range as the market had already eaten up all value. Granted, the bottom line is picking winners, but beating the oddsmakers at their lines will show profit over the long run. Understanding what the market is going to do with the lines is obviously a key.
I wish you the best of luck as I'm on the Angels as well with a buy at 126. |
