Kyle Lohse had a career year...at age 33. In the post season he was 0-2 with a 7.82 ERA. I bring both up because I beleive you can't look at a 33 year old and say "he has turned the corner"....he is what he is and that's a pitcher that is 4 games under .500 with an ERA of 4.64. I also wonder what "under the spotlight of an amped crowd for the opening of a new stadium will do to his psyche as the post season obviously caused issues last year.
Josh Johnson, turning the age of 28, dominates when he is healthy. He's healthy atleast for this game and that's all that matters...this game.
36-13 since 2008, his WHIP has gone down in each year since 2008, Hits per 9 down each year, HR's are almost non existant at 0.3 per 9 in his last 37 games and 243 innings.
Intangibles: Obviously the loss of Pujols will have an impact and the additon of Carlos Beltran and moving Berkman to First just doesn't do much for me as these 2 are aging.
Florida adding Reyes, opening night new stadium, I'll give Ozzie a little love tonight as well along with one of the best pitchers in baseball is an advantage for the Marlins
