#8 Posted: 3/27/2012 4:20:36 PM it's a friggin joke, hard core baseball fans will watch the game, and gamblers will too, i guarantee if the yankees or redsox were playing over there in japan the game would being shown live, since it's the oakland and seattle they prob know the ratings will be shitty because people on east coast don't give a garbage about two bad teams |

#9 Posted: 3/27/2012 4:22:40 PM Kids are at school, and 9-5ers are at work.
If you show the game at 6, at least some people will wake up early to watch it.
This makes no sense what-so-ever!
I've been looking forward to this for WEEKS! |

#11 Posted: 3/27/2012 4:28:36 PM I don't see the big deal. It is a A's vs M's matchup. I wonder if the league pondered sending 2 NL teams to Japan instead,,,Padres vs Astros maybe? |

#13 Posted: 3/27/2012 4:38:40 PM Any NFL game is an event far larger than any A's game, the point is either than degenerate gamblers no one gives a darn about this game. |

#15 Posted: 3/27/2012 5:19:57 PM The thing is with the tape delay Lance, that while I'm watching the game, they're going to be showing the FINAL score running on the bottom of the TV. Not very exciting when the A's have the bases loaded, and the final score seems to be "4-1" Mariners, per se
If we can find a stream of firstrow from some oriental tv station then that's the only solution. I just thought of that as well, we'll see! |

Actually, that was one of the biggest complaints about the Summer Olympics in China was that almost everything was tape delayed. |

You mean at 3:00 am. Both Seattle and Oakland are in PST and will be 3:00am. |

#20 Posted: 3/27/2012 8:12:44 PM This sucks. Was planning on getting up a little early, and watching the first few innings LIVE before heading out. You would think owning the baseball package would allow me to watch the opening game.
Anyone know if this is gonna be on the radio? I have Sirius/XM and they are usually pretty good having all the games. At least I'll be able to listen to 75 minutes of the game on my commute. |

#25 Posted: 3/27/2012 10:48:49 PM Seattle??? Unless the Yanks or Red Sox are in town, tickets can easily be had for M's games, thousands of them actually. I think maybe that these 2 teams were chosen to play in Japan was partly due to the fact neither on them have a hope in hell of a playoff spot, making this game in fact, meaningless.
Oakland??? They will likely be the San Jose Athletics sometime in the future. |
