#3 Posted: 3/2/2012 11:52:50 AM zito is going to be a tough pitcher this year. He's healthy, and I think he comes out this year with something to prove |

#7 Posted: 3/2/2012 2:27:39 PM Mainman2>> I did bet against him a couple of times last year (before they put him in the pen and then shelved him) and I certainly remember NOT having to give up 2 to 1 odds to do it.
Might have laid a run and half in one or two of those occassions....Who knows maybe this year the oddsmakers will catch up to his recent performance levels and jack up the juice.
If you are right and the best I can get is -220 to go against him then I'll pass or lay the run and a half....
Either way, I'm watching, waiting and hoping he can get the 5th spot so, I can make some more money on him....he has been very very good to me in recent years! |

#9 Posted: 3/2/2012 11:16:41 PM zito is a tough pitcher to play, he wins when u dont expect him to, he's not the automatic fade his stats bear out, bizzarely the giants score runs for him but not for cain for example. |

#11 Posted: 3/3/2012 12:12:01 AM you can probably fade him in april blindly but after not so much, at #5 most of his starts will be vs other teams bottom rotation starters. Zito might win 10 games if healthy. |

With Pujols gone, St.Louis isn't going to have that big of a price tag, even in the games with Carpenter on the mound. Not sayin' Carpenter backers will be + money at the end of the season, just that if he ends up close to .500 win/loss record, it may not be -1185$ as it was last year. Just my 2c.

#13 Posted: 3/5/2012 10:00:14 AM I'm not much of a "stats" guy but.....
In 2010 Zito was 9-14 as the pitcher of record....with 9 of those loses by 2 or more runs......
In 2011 Zito was 3-4 as the pitcher of record....every loss was by 2 or more runs.

#22 Posted: 4/10/2012 10:20:03 AM So, Zito throws his first shutout in 9 years....that is awesome!
Congrats to Barry....not only did he win (a 4 hit complete game shutout) he totally dominated the Rockies...with those 75 mph curveballs and 85 mph fastballs.
I even put "Zito must start" hahaha...I knew when I clicked it, then posted it here I was doomed.
If Barry keeps pitching like this my anti Zito odds will be getting better and better!
I got what I deserved......I lost 1.5 units on my anti Zito play ($150 for me)......fortunately, I was able to resist the "urge" to throw my whole bankroll on my anti Zito play less than one week into the season. .....
There will be more Zito starts to come! and the price will be less juicy the next time!
