For getting on here the whole offseason saying the Pirates will win the central. Today they traded for A.J. Burnett and that tells me they don't want to compete or try to win. I know it sounds stupid but in my opinion A.J. Burnett is an overpaid turd in a punchbowl. paid like a #1 pitches like a #5. I now pick the Reds to win the central. Anyway guys i'm sorry to say the pirates win the central the whole offseason i hope you can forgive me. BTW my wife has heard this all offseason and she's tired of it too

It takes a 25 man roster to win a division...not just one player.

So, why does that change your selection on the outcome of a division? He isn't facing the AL East anymore. The National League will do him some good. I doubt he can be worse than whoever maybe the fifth starter for the Pirates without Burnett on the roster.

because they traded for Burnett. Sorry i can't pick them. For a team like Pittsburgh the fact they traded for Burnett tells me they don't want to win

Burnett is a great example in the clubhouse for the younger players.

He can show them all how to have temper tantrums and cut your hand.

Burnett gets enough punishment here. Now has to spend time in Pittsburgh nad play for a team a whole lot less likely to compete for a pennant. Kinda gets what he deserves

well double up i know i've been on here for not a long time. And people can say what they want about me. But one thing that isn't true about me is i don't take the easy way out in baseball predictions or life. Very rarely do i change my opinion. This is 1 of those times with Burnett.

Look, let's cut to the chase, OK? The Pirates are in a declining market and have no intention of winning unless they can do it on the cheap. That ain't gonna happen either because they can't assess, train or bring along young talent very well either. Occasionally they get lucky and some kid finds himself in the bigs with a chance to impress other teams and get traded or hang in there until free agency. You are talking about the worst organization in professional sports in a declining market. What do you really expect? God has better things to do with His miracles.
